Is it worth $7 is a question everyone has to answer by himself.

But it would be more than stupid if they make it single player only. It's not possible in any way, so your question is kinda 'stupid' (no offense ;)

It has up to 3 player local co-op, it's just a bit hidden:
You have to go to Options -> Controller configuration.

Its not so hidden as you think just simply press multiplayer -> Local Co-op and then add a local player you dont have to go into options ;)

What you're describing is Trine 2, though, isn't it - Trine 1 doesn't have a Multiplayer button...

I've played local co-op with a mate using a controller and me the keyboard+mouse. SO it has multi-player.

I saw it on the 4 threads on main page, I didn't resurrect the topic.
EDIT: Sorry, you're right, this came when I wrote Trine on the search tool. So I'm a necromancer, cool:P Is that so bad?

Dude when playing Trine 1 literally just pick up another controller and press the start button and 2 people are playing. Done. You don't need to configure anything. It is not online multiplayer is the only thing. Trine 2 has both local and online.

No. This only works after you have configured the controls at least once, because by default, controller for Player 2 and 3 are disabled. Once you have enabled controls for second or third player in the options menu (see the links I posted above), then you can do what you said. I just tested this on my notebook. If you don't believe me, try a fresh install of Trine 1 on a new machine and see for yourself.
