The Darkness II: Steamworks or not?

I've been trying to find out if the boxed, retail version of The Darkness II will be a Steamworks game, including by trying to get an official reply, but I can't find any information. Does anyone know?

Well if you buy it from amazon you can activate it on steam so I think yes

For anyone interested in this question, the official reply is that it is indeed Steamworks and, hence, all versions -- digital and physical -- are linked to Steam.
