I can't believe 1000's of people fell for this.
I think they got off easy with the survey stuff vs getting hit with some fake antivirus, those are hard as hell to remove.

I wouldn't consider someone to be an actual bona fide pirate if they went for a trap like that.

All the pirates are perfectly aware GTA5 is not on PC yet. It narrows down to kids and retards.

Or uninformed cavemen that live under rocks. Big rocks.

That logic ...
If they didn't want money from pc gamers, they would not even bother to publish it on pc.
Well, whatever nonsense you need to make up to justify your actions...

If they wanted my money, they would've released the game when it should've been released, not have the version already done but not wanting to release it. When they will release the PC version, they will just to tell us we are dogs being thrown a bone, not their real customers.

Transalation: He's butthurt because he has to wait a few months to get a product when it's manufacturer CHOOSES to release it, so he's going to steal it from them.

"Hey, did you hear that that one new game is gonna be released in 2014? I will pirate it, because the devs do not instantly release it at the point they announce it!"

"I just buy games that are instantly released when they are announced. I will not give money to studios that actually need TIME for developing"
seriously, just stop it. you are making yourself silly

Ehm. No? You seem not to know how much time it takes to program in 3 (!) different(!) program languages. It is compeltely different. Take Pascal and Lua for example. Lua does not know how to do a repeat function. This is is very huge problem as you have to change the whole syntax for it. And Lua takes no "begin"s. You have to change every single "begin". Therefore, you have to "end" every "for", "if", etc. fucntion.
So, if you import for example this program
This is the pascal version.
PROGRAM GTA_V;
VAR i : INTEGER;
PROCEDURE define_i;
BEGIN
IF i = 0 THEN
i := i+1;
i := i-1;
END;
BEGIN
i := 0;
define_i;
END.
Now that would be the LUA version:
function define_i;
if i=0 then
i = i+1
end
i = i-1
end
i=0
define_i()
You see? Though BOTH versions are for PC, they are completly different. And that was just about counting an i to either 0 or -1. Now think about 3 completly different BIOSes. I hope you will now see that they cannot do that in such a little time. If not, I will give it up on you. You just seem to want to have a wanna-be-explanation about why it is completly right to rob a 250 million dollar project. This is my lst comment

If they can do 3, they should be able to do 4, and 5, and 6, all the way up to infinity. Slippery slope, my friend. Business is not an all-or-nothing deal, and PC gaming comes with the risk of higher profile piracy (whereas console piracy has a bottleneck of cracked console and pirate copy access, where PC users can google and torrent pretty easily).

a) You're assuming the game is ready to release. It probably isn't.
b) You don't know what you are talking about. Companies hold back product all the time for marketing and business reasons. For example, movies are held back so that they hit Oscar season, or so that they don't get killed in a competitive summer crossfire, etc.

"MAMA, CONSOLE PLAYERS HAVE IT AND I DO NOT HAVE IT ;_; DO SOMETHING!"

"when it should've been released"
Right. Only if they released it immediately (and consequently full of porting bugs) you would have been on an equal tantrum about how they view PC gamers as lessers and are giving us sub-par goods. You have boxed yourself in mentally so that no matter what action they took, the result would have been the same. By deciding to pirate it because they delay the release, you are only ADDING to the problem. Many developers do not create PC ports because of the ease and speed of piracy, and the perceived risk. All you are doing is showing them that creating a PC port was a bad idea, and they are less likely to consider a port of future games as a result.
Way to go.

The basic logic is to make the first version on PC with the good textures and all and just dumb it down so it would run on crappy consoles too. Don't respect basic logic? Well too bad for them. They had time to remove the bugs for Xcrap and Shistation, why not for PC?
Comment has been collapsed.
Your 'basic logic' implies that consoles all operate on exactly the same code and engine as would be used on the PC. Porting isn't as simple as altering keybinds, dude. Converting it for a different platform generates its own bugs that need to be addressed, and as I said, if they didn't address those glaring bugs created in the process, you would be singing exactly the same tune.
Some companies rely on console sales to make up the bulk of their profits, because to their stat-crunchers, piracy is a big enough threat that a substantial amount of expected PC sales are eaten by piracy. They sometimes gauge success on their primary platforms (consoles) before deciding whether a port is worth it, assuming they haven't already begun the porting process, or gotten it beyond certain stages. Regardless of what they did, you would still be saying the same thing, and your open, unashamed declaration of intention to pirate is part of what creates the problem you say you're against.

They are amateurs. I wouldn't trust it if it doesn't include or require an xbox/ps3 emulator. The file should be a rom or .iso, wich will be opened with the emulator. Unless the virus creators are wise enough to make everything look like that, I'm not believing a single word.
Keep your eyes open!! ;)

Remember seeing stuff like this 10 years ago. Not really news worthy. As it's not news. Fake releases are a common virus distribution method. It's not that only the stupid people download them, it's the inexperienced. They just don't know any better, but they will get their lesson. Think I even saw a GTA5 release on ares or something back then.

That's an old scam that has been around long before GTAV. Neat piece of social engineering. :(

I don't understand why they wait, If you they want to try it, either buy or rent it for console, It would suck If I waited to play it on PC, as I didn't really enjoy the game, massive hype, but IMO, just didn't deliver, single player was fun, but was kind of the same thing through and through, and MP is boring, but that's just my opinion :P

Trying to download a pirate version of Grand Theft Auto V for PC. The one that doesn't exist yet. Instead, they get malware and then fill surveys to try and get their key.
