Something similar happened to me when I first started using steamgifts. Entered a random giveaway without really knowing how everything worked, and ended up winning Faerie Solitaire, a game I wasn't really interested in.
That's when I started entering only in giveaways for games I actually cared about.

Many. For me, it tends to be really bad games as opposed to good. Games that inspire a feeling of: "You're not very good but you're everywhere and everyone seems to own you...get in mah library."
Weird I guess, spending thousands of points entering the same giveaways for the same shitty game instead of just buying the darn thing. :P

The only games I constantly enter for are from high tier expensive bundles, so I can't just buy them personally.
Though I entered 59 Stanley Parable giveaways since the Freedom Bundle went live and I've known about this game since its release, so I should definitely just buy it already. xD
If there is a cheap game I want to have, I usually just trade it for bundle leftovers or old free keys if they are interested in those.

Not dead-set, I am more like waiting for a bundle that contains both. By the time I heard that HRK finally managed to somehow find a payment processor outside G2Pay, they ran out of keys for these.
But I usually play these time managers when I visit the folks, and I have plenty of HOGs left for that occasions to last me over half a year at least anyway.

Never, really, it had 20% or 25% discounts at best. But it is the third time it is bundled, so I am surprised if most of the copies are not bought at the grey market. Especially now, as the price tanked with the new HB bundle, it is under $4 on G2A now as apparently a lot of keys ended up there.

and it will only cost you $5-$7 depending how you want to price it. lots of effort to split and deliver to people, though (plus fees for sending money, but also a bust if you don't want to give out personal information too)

generally the cost of the cheap game outweighs the price anywhere else you will get it. like $8 with a fee of $0.61 or so (if you just make a WTB thread) for a game that's been on sale for $20 or something, but PayPal is upping their fees coming March 29, too.

I've entered well over 100 times for Nuclear Throne myself, actually. It's become something of a compulsion.
Did it for Warhammer 40K: Eternal Crusade as well, because I refused to buy that Namco bundle just for that one game. Finally caved and scoured the trading markets for it.

The first one that came to mind is The vanishing Of Ethan Carter. It's been dirt cheap several times and I still haven't bought it. Lately it's been VA-11 HALL-A: Cyberpunk Bartender since it was in that high tier bundle. It's funny I think we figure we put so much work into entering for the games that our stubborn mind doesn't want to give up and buy it :p
