Hey

I have a question guys. My father just installed Far Cry 3. He bought the Deluxe Version of it on Steam through the "buy the Deluxe Version" button on the game page (not through the additional DLC "upgrade" page). But after he installed it and wanted to input the code for Deluxe Edition it said they key has already been used which is obviously not true. I read some posts on the Internet and it seems to be a common problem but someone wrote that it was because the DLC has already been activated itself. So my question is - does the key is wrong and the DLC is not activated and one has to contact Ubi or it says it's been activated because the DLC is already active?

In the DLC tab on Steam it says "High Tides DLC", "Deluxe Edition Content" and "Deluxe Edition Key". So it seems as the content itself downloaded itself so that would explain why it might be already in game.

Can someone elaborate on that? I think I had a similar problem with some Assassin's Creed game once and it turned out the DLC was already in game and that's why the key wouldn't activate.

You have to enter the key through the in-game extras menu. It may also need to be lowercase and with the dashes removed.

I did. It recognized the key because it said it has already been used so the key was valid.

I went through all this the other day when I bought it myself and got the same messages, until I tried the code lowercase and with no dashes/spaces. If that won't work then I have no idea.

Also saw a few suggestions for using the base game key. Not sure if that'll fare any better. To check for the content in game you'll have to play through as far as retaking the first outpost at which point the weapons will be available from the shops (M700 Predator) and all the extra missions should be visible on the map.

You have to install Uplay in order to play the Far Cry 3 Steam edition. The game will automatically do that for you when you start FC3 in Steam client. When you login into Uplay go to Settings/Activate product and enter the CD key you got on Steam client. When you are done with that, go to Games/Far Cry 3 and under Uplay progression you should be able to activate High Tides DLC for 0 point.

I did all that. I know how all of this works.

But Deluxe Edition contains not only High Tides but also some other add-ons.

Once I redeemed an in-game DLC key for Assassin's Creed III, but I forgot for what it was, so I never figured what DLC it was and what it gave me. Uplay doesn't show what DLCs you own. Good you have your game on Steam, you can at least see which DLC you own.

Yeah, this UPlay and the way you reedem DLC's is shit. You can't even see what add-ons you own. It's ridiculous. Why can't it be like on Steam or Origin? You just buy the DLC and you can see which you own and which you don't. But yeah it's Ubi.

It so happens that I have FC3 de-fuck-luxe e-fucking-dition. Had the same issue with the key. Turned out I got everything - additional missions, Hurk missions, extra items for single and multiplayer, even though u-fuckingrotinhellmotherfuckers-play said the code is invalid.
