Just start with the first ROME game. Also make sure your laptop has decent cooling!

Start from the beginning and work your way up the series. Each one is a one of a kind gem. =)

You might also want to take mods into account, for example medieval 2 has an excellent warhammer mod. Rome first of the name has very good mods. But my favourite stays the first one, shogun, i just find it has the best immersion but it might be because i bought it the day it came out.

I have always preferred the first one (Shogun). The others are far to into world management, and far too complicated.
For example Medieval is a great game, until about 75% conquered, and then you just auto lose.
I also really enjoyed Shogun 2, Until about 50% conquered. I looked it up, and you basically have to know that that the game will suddenly start to do everything to kill you at that point and you need to have planned and stockpiled like a billion gold and more troops than you would ever possibly need.

Huh the first shogun? You mean the cell phone game later ported to PC?

I could run Total War Rome 1 fine with an Intel integrated GPU (HD2000) in my old laptop, so you should have little problems with Rome 1, plus it's an epic game even if you are a newbie at this kind of games

All of them. :D
Some of them have demos on steam, so try the demo first.

Ok thank you guys, it was really helpful. My last question is about multiplayer. I would like to know how good it is. I watched some TW Rome II let's plays, and multiplayer was very nice. Is it good in other TW games or you just treat it as singleplayer game?

To my experience RTW1 has pretty good mp, while MTW2 not so much - the only good MP thing in it are hotseats - sort of multiplayer campaing.
Then NTW has good mp and multiplayer campaing, while ETW fails in both cases. Vanila ETW imo is just not playable.
STW2 has very good mp and mpc, and RTW2 has somewhat good mp (a bit unbalanced atm) but due to AI problems any campaign (sp or mp) is imo not worth its time.

Just stay away from Empire on Steam. It's a glitchy mess of a game that won't run on a ton of machines and has zero support at Steam or with the developers.
Good luck and have fun!

Hello Guys
I would like to start my adventure with one of the Total War Game, but I encounter a small problem. I'm not sure which one is the best. And there is my question, could you help me choose one of the total war game? I'm playing on my laptop so I also don't know if its specification is good enough for one of the newest game (cpu i3-2350M 2.3ghz gpu geforce 610M). Thank you for any help.
