Outlast, Dungeon Nightmares 1 & 2 (Not on steam :( )

If you are looking for something deep, try The Cat Lady and Downfall - these games combine psychological horror and gore in perfect proportions. Fran Bow is a wonderful psychedelic point-and-click horror. I'd also like to recommend Stasis, a sci-fi thriller (point-and-click again); the story is a bit shallow in this one, but it's really atmospheric.
If you are into amusement rides, try recent Layers of Fear - although it was a bit boring to me, the same tricks are repeated again and again, and you get cheap jumpscares every five minutes or so; yet for some reasons people tend to like this game.

Dead Space (only first one); FEAR (same as Dead Space); Outlast... you can find good horror games in old titles 'cause I can't find one on these days ;(

Oh another one came in mind: Dunno if you're into this kind of games but if you like classic point and click adventures you could give 'I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream' a try.' Has a really unique and evil setting and atmosphere.
