The first two games are incredible. But based on what I've played in the third so far, it's garbage.

Agreed, the first two are awesome. Some of the best rpg I've played. But the third is just a Diablo clone, with clunky controls (feels like a bad console port).

I definitely agree with the clunky controls. The first game's music plays over and over again in my head sometimes, it was so memorable :P

I loved the first one. But I stopped playing the second one after about an hour. I don't realy know why, I just didn't like it.
But I enjoyed the third one on PS3 and will play it on PC again, this time with DLC.

The second game starts out rough but once you get into it, it really gets better :) The controls are very different on PC, they've made them very confusing and nothing like the first two games. Just something to remember :P

the first 2 are amazing, they are the best best rpg's i ever played.

the third game is really bad but it has multiplayer and coop.

i would recommend you to buy the 2 first games, they are tottaly worth the price.

To the fans of the first 2 games, do you own them on Steam? I kept reading elsewhere that they do not have needed expansions or multiplayer. Makes it seem like the Steam versions are too flawed to be worth it, but I don't know for myself.

I bought the DS3 bundle when it was possible to pre-order it, because they would include DS2. Indeed, it did not included expansions or multiplayer for DS2, so i asked to get reimbursed and they decided to accept my request, since i was not interested in the 3rd episode (and DS3 was not released at the moment).

I don't know if they updated Dungeon Siege 2 for steam, but if they did not, you'd better find a non-steam version, it'll include more content.

As for Dungeon Siege 3... It is just a dumb random Hack&Slash with nice graphics, but it does not deserve the "Dungeon Siege" name.

I got 1 & 2 on disc , played them a lot :)

Thinking about buying the complete , could be really cool to have them on steam + to get DS 3 ^_^

I'm sure expansion for 2nd game is not included.

Well, looking at the store page for Dungeon Siege 2, it is sure the multiplayer is NOT included. As for the expansion, since nothing is said about it, i would safely assmue that it is not included, too.

I liked DS3 - battles are more complex, bosses are more tough. And there's a decent plot at last. Would give it 7 out of 10.

All complaints are due to bad controls but you can get used to them.

And btw DS3 is sexy in a number of ways.

I would buy only for DS3, if you guys think better just get the first two elsewhere.
But its lookslike the 3rd DS is not worth it at all.

I haven't played Dungeon Siege III yet, but I'll say that it is worth it for the first two games alone, especially if you can get the multiplayer working. Dungeon Siege III looks fun to me, but not nearly as good. =P

For anyone interested in playing Dungeon Siege I or II with a friend, or to be able to play the expansions for either games, check this out.

There is a way to get the multiplayer and the expansions working with Dungeon Siege 1 and 2! I haven't tried it out yet myself since I just bought the (un)complete pack earlier today, but I'm really hoping it will work..

Dungeon Siege I Multiplayer fix:

  • In Steam, go to Dungeon Siege I properties - Launch Options; enter:

    • zonematch=true
  • Or; enter this for controlling other settings (recommended) (change resolution/vsync/maxfps to what you prefer):
    • width=1920 height=1080 fullscreen=true vsync=false maxfps=60 nointro=true bltonly=true zonematch=true

Expansion fix (Need a retail copy first!) (no need for previous step):

  • Go by this (Info taken from a forum post):
    • Well you simply can get legends of arrana if you own a retail version of it, install it and well then overwrite the resources/maps folders of your steam version, put the DSLOA folder into the folder as well and rename your DungeonSiege.exe to something else then you just use the DSLOA.exe of Legends of Arrana to start the game per Steam library.
no use of "zonematch=true" in start parameters as Multiplayer opens without the "Disabled" Message.
(Version of Legends of Arrana is 1.50 also you will see the menu in green then you know you did it right. )
    • (Game works fine even in 64-bit Windows 8. Just add the following to your launch options in Steam:
      width= height= fullscreen=true vsync=true bltonly=true nointro=true
Set width and height to whatever you like.

Dungeon Siege II Multiplayer fix:
(Disclaimer!!! - Do this at your own risk! I am not to be held responsible for any viruses =P)

  • Get the 2.2 NOCD crack from somewhere

  • Go by this (Info taken from a forum post):

    • LAN multiplayer is working fine for DS2. That problem I had with getting to lobby with 2.2 NOCD for DS2 .. as Dr_Quake wrote here .. is solved by disabling internet connection if the game says that you cant use the nick you have chosen. After getting to lobby, you can go back online and everything will be fine then.

Expansion fix (Need a retail copy first!):
The only thing I've been able to find is people saying that you need to edit the registry.. I also believe you need to copy the Broken World expansion folder somewhere into the Dungeon Siege II folder.

I am not really sure about any of this, especially with Dungeon Siege II, but I'll look into it some more tomorrow.
