Ok so not that great, got it. I do still think their trading feature is decent. Easier to get noticed lol but otherwise yeah it sounds like they need to rework their giveaway system.

Haven't used their trading feature. Might look into it later, if I miss out on a sale.
And yeah, I'd love to see a few tweaks to their giveaway system. As soon as I can muster the energy up, I'll send 'em some feedback.

It's not really bad, but you have to gift 300 games to win something cool because a lot of people places decents games (even though, almost all are bundled) in Xtra odd games - the system in which you can buy 10 tickets - at 20-30-40k, so at the end you have to bid 400k points. I think they are all greedy. Too much greedy.

I think your question about their points system would be better answered by the GalaGiveaways site FAQ
As far as my opinions on it, pretty positive. I love having a site where I can win Desura codes. Hate the overabundance of poker, >10k point, and 10+ feedback giveaways. Of course I am looking forward to having the ability to make GAs for those without wins. That'll be great! On Steam Gifts it's a touch harder to do that.
I've yet to have any issues with the site itself. Heard bad things about some of its members, but that's a given.

I more-so wanted to know people's experiences on how it worked like the "ppl with tons of points enter in everything" comment rather than the technical side, but thank you anyway. Good to see some positive feedback. There may be hope afterall!

Oh, I see. I think I know what you mean now. ^^
You don't need to give away games in order to get points. There are point refill giveaways that cost nothing to enter, and give you anywhere from 1,000 to 10,000 extra points. But those aren't very common. And some folks store their points in long-lasting giveaways, and withdraw then right before said GA is about to end. Of course you can lose those points if you forget to withdraw them before the giveaway ends.
As for their selection being as "crappy" as one person mentioned, it depends on what type of games you like. There are quite a few of them there that I enjoy. Of course I like a wide variety of different games. That helps.
You're quite welcome!

I've occasionally entered for Desura games and have won nothing. Eh.

i stopped checking.
only won multiwinia from a 50-copy giveaway there, which rounded off my set of introversion games nicely. personally dislike everything from the layout to the newly introduced poker system (wut) and the shoutbox is filled with people i'd love to facepunch on a good day.

I kinda like the poker system. What I hate, however, is the fact that far too many people feel the need to make poker giveaways with a 10,000 point entry fee. Means you also have to spend 10k points every time you want to change a card. -_-
Their system needs a bit of tweaking, but I'm sure they'll eventually get things to where they're a bit more fair. GG has been working in that direction.
And yes, I had to block the shoutbox out due to the sheer amount of stupidity that I've seen in it. Though most similar chats I've seen usually end up that way. But I've heard that it has gotten better now that there are chat mods watching over things.

GalaGiveaways is an awful site. I used them earlier in the year and the points system is a joke. Not going to bid on a bundle game for 100K points. Steam Gifts is much better, a good balance and fair for everyone to win. It is why I will be here for a long time and happy to give away games to support the site.

never heard of that gala thing.
just took a look at it and i think its weird.
not good looking and definitely less good than steamgifts.

Ignore the chat and comments. Farm points to enter the occasional high-cost giveaway of a good game. Feel no moral qualms about winning the same thing five times. No need to activate your wins, just don't regift them on Gala Giveaways and you're golden.

Galagiveaway is better IMO. You get points on the site for how many steam games you already own and can use those points to enter drawings for steam keys, often big ticket AAA games. There is a drawing every couple minutes and like 100s a day. A lot of the drawings do not have many entries so you can get pretty good odds. Also you can put up keys in order to gain more points, but you start off with a lot of points so you don't really need to do that. It is very game like.

Steamgifts is so much better. I occasionally go to galagiveaways and enter refill giveaways, currently have 561,870 points

Yes I have experience with galagiveaways, not really good site. But better than Playblink where you spend your life playing their stupid games and win nothing, just spend time. And better than gameminer too I think.
Galagiveaways team are misers, they always gave 10.000 points if you enter refill, but once they started to give 100 or 1000, first I thought it was an error, because who the hell will make a refill just for 100 points, but they did. Now they give only 5000 in refill, and their points recovery system sometimes is very fast and other times is extremely slow.

Anybody here have any experience with GalaGiveaways? I haven't really entered any giveaways there yet but the idea of another steamgifts-like site is nice. It'd be nice if they added a "games you already own" filter like this site has though. But I do like the gala trading section a lot. It's a lot simpler than SteamTrades.
But yeah, what are your thoughts on GalaGiveaways? How does their point system work? Better or worse than CV?
