so my friend believes that humble bundle is a scam based on the fact that it says on its page "Pay 1$ or more for access to content on Steam". i don't know exactly why this infuriates him but i do know that he thinks its like paying 1$ to be able to use steam. i don't know why he has this opinion but we got into an argument over it and i would like to see if any one else has this opinion too.

Explain that they mean if you pay 1 dollar or more you get a STEAM KEY for that game, steam itself is a free client. Of course, you'd get the first tier games if you pay less than a dollar too, just as drm-free.

i think the lowest you can pay is 1$ for the lowest tier drm free or not (they did this to prevent people from paying 1 cent and being "un-humble" proof: http://blog.humblebundle.com/post/14549340777/1-min-price-for-getting-steam-keys

Nope, you can pay 1 cent to get a drm free copy, just without the steam keys. So any game that does not have steam keys in the PWYW tier cannot be obtained for less than a dollar. It's a minimum of 1 dollar for steam keys.

I thought everyone pays the $1 daily access fee to use Steam...
But seriously, Humble Bundle is very reputable.

Honestly I'd just give up. You are trying to prove him and he still doesn't trust it, I'd say "fuck it, your loss!"

I think that there is one simple solution. But a $1 bundle and gift it to your friend. Since there is no money risk for your friend, that person will have nothing to lose trying it.

They have charity credit information on the site, this is perfectly sufficient proof to know the site is legit lol

Wikipedia has its flaws, but I think your friend will agree that it's still very unlikely that they would have a whole article on scam site.

One of the credit card companies here in India things that HumbleBundle, BundleStars and Steam are scams. They've blocked several cards of users trying to purchase from these sites. But don't tell this to your friend :P
Anyway, tell your friend that they should read this thread. Maybe that will help :P

I think the right title should've been : "Help me find a reason why i should keep that friend"
It would've been more challenging to come up with reasons good enough to still befriend someone who thinks HB is a scam.
