this hasn't been asked before... but I think people generally assumed (correctly) that is the case (i.e. they do need to have an account on the site). If your friends do not have an account here, you can still make a giveaway for them on your own (but not through the site)... Just write down the entries in an excel file, put numbers starting with 1 at the top next to each, then use random.org (or perhaps even excels rand() function) to select a random number and whoever corresponds to that number is your winner ^^
