Foobar. It's one of the mandatory programs I first install after a system wipe.

Just installed this. Do you use the default skin? Or a downloaded theme?

I just use one of the standard themes. I'm fairly easy to please visually. There's a ton of skins and stuff online if that's more your thing.

MusicBee is awesome. Pretty easy to configure, pretty, functional, can rip / encode and plays basically everything. It emulates most Itunes functions save for the store, ofc, and is compatible with Winamp plugins. Got it playing right now and it's using 32MB of RAM.
You'll need a couple plugins for it to encode and play in some formats, but those can be downloaded from their site, just can't be included with the program for licensing reasons.

Ripping in FLAC is built in though, so thats neat.

MediaMonkey is my favourite. Being able to organise all media (music, movies, tv) in a consistent format (after tagging from Amazon) it is second to none.
Gold also has a DLNA server built in which is handy for smart tvs.

Except it seriously phucked up my album art, automatically applying the wrong images to almost all of my albums/songs, including the ones purchased via iTunes - I'm willing to try it again if they've fixed some of the issues it had in the prior versions, but I'm obviously skeptical right now.

I liked it for a while also till it did exactly what Docdra said.
It also liked to duplicate files after a while...other music apps I used never did this.

Yeah its pretty bad when your collection of music is over 200gb and 300 artists large, took me days to go through everything, was a bad time.

Foobar or MusicBee, trust me on this one...
Note: Foobar seems to have an issue on Windows 8 for me, just a heads up, MusicBee works great.

I like Banshee for music, but the Windows version is a "alpha-quality technology preview", so contains many bugs and is not recommended. It works well on Linux though, and will hopefully be improved on Windows, so that those using Win can use it.

Hi everybody.
I no longer want to use iTunes and thus wanted to ask you if you could recommend me any other software to replace it and play my music library.
Thanks :)
