How can I check if Payday The Heist detects my Nvidia GeForce because I think it doesn't.

if you're modding game supporting steam workshop there's nothing to be worried about. If you want to add mod to game without steam workshop or use specific mod that is not on workshop - back up your files :>

Well, Crylife seems to be on Moddb, not sure if it's on the Steam Workshop.

There's no Half Life 2 Workshop, so you won't be able to get it from there :P

Unless SMod is some addon for Garry Mod?

Not true in all cases. For example, at least some Killing Floor skins require a bit of manual work even when downloaded from Workshop - you need to unzip them on your own. And when you'd unsubscribe from them, it will only delete downloaded archive, you'll need to delete new textures on your own.
