Get PlayStation Plus. It will give you a ton of games free for like$60 a year and is worth it.

Check Journey, Uncharted and Infamous and if you play on 3D TV check Motorstorm Apocalypse. I prefer Steam, but in 3D-Gaming or exclusive Titles I use PS3. IMO Nintendo has the best Titles outside PC (Mario-Series)

Metal Gear Solid 4, Metal Gear Solid HD Collection (contains MGS2, MGS3 and MGS:PW), Gran Turismo 5, Ratchet and Clank games, GTA4, Max Payne 3, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Heavy Rain, Uncharted Trilogy, God of War games, Doom 3 BFG Edition...

Also Im looking forward to release of these games: MGS Ground Zeroes/Phantom Pain, Gran Turismo 6, Beyond Two Souls, Diablo 3, GTA5, Last of Us

Hmm, I myself used to play on the PS3 before I switched to PC, and I must say that some of the best games were the exclusives. Uncharted is an awesome series that molds action and adventure together in a blend of suspense and wonder. Killzone 3 is a beautiful (well, for PS3 at least) looking First-person shooter where you battle an awesomely dressed enemies called the Helghast as you fight in this alien world. It was actually my first game on PS3 and it was what really got me hooked. There's also God of War, which I must warn you first, is extremely bloody and you should probably look at gameplay of it on YouTube before you decide on buying it.

Wait to get a PS4

Red Dead Redemption is a really great game both single player and multiplayer

Get all Yakuza games (Including 1&2 HD Collection). Also import kenzan from japan and maybe yakuza 5 since it's not released in the west yet.

Ps4 is coming this holiday , so suggest you wait for it. if you insist on buying it then :

1- Action Adventure :
-Uncharted series (1,2,3) in general has an awesome singleplayer and great multiplayer , by way multiplayer portion went free to play but with level cap , you can still continue but you will not level up. It also has top Co-op: some of it are story base. Buy Uncharted 3 game of they year edition with all dlc and uncharted bundle which contian 1,2 with all dlc.
-Heavy Rain : moive style action game no online
-the last of us : 3rd person horror not out yet May 7 2013
Beyond 2 soul : similar to heavy rain not out yet , Oct 2013

2- FPS :
-Resistance series (1,2,3) with awesome weapons you can can carry 12 guns at time(except for 2) , i suggest you buy the Resistance Trilogy which contain all dlc
-Killzone Series (1,2,3) it one best graphics and solid multiplayer , it also have Free to play multiplayer which has level limit , so after you reach level 10 you cannot continue to play unlike Uncharted 3 where you can play but will not able to level up. i suggest you buy killzone bundle which has all game and all dlc togather.

3- Racing : GT5 has moren than 1000 cars and it great game try it not a fan of racising game but it an exclusive.

4- RPG : Finale Fantasy Versus XIII : not out yet it supposed to be coming to the ps3 , but rumors say it will go to PS4 instead of ps3 yet no offical word from SQ or Sony. It has Kingdom Heart style of play which is my favorite, if you play KH series on ps2 ou will know , it is mix of RPG and action style of gameplay .

Note : all the games i have listed are Ps3 exclusive.

If you intend online gaming on ps3 then prepear to pay a lot.. Otherwise just jailbrake it it is worth more..

I had a PS3 throughtout all my years at University, with a few occasional Steam games on my laptop from time to time. I loved it, but once I got a job and started earning money and got a brand new computer, things changed. Now my PS3 just sits next to my computer not doing anything. I can enjoy so many more games for cheaper prices and better quality on PC. I could never go back to the PS3, even though I spent so much time collecting trophies and making new friends :(

A decent PC can be expensive, but you'll save more money in the long run. A PS3 is cheap, but you'll lose more money when it comes time to buy the games :S

Uncharted 2, Little Big Planet 2, Red Dead Redemption, Ultimate Ninja Storm (2, Generations or 3).

I heard that ps4 and xbox 720 will be the cheapest consoles of all time! you dont have to buy ps3 i think.

First of all i wanna thank you all for your replies :) I had a few games on my mind and with your opinions you made me finally choose a few games which are the best to play with friends and single player.Soon i'll own it with : grand turismo 5 ,GoW Ascension (looking forward to find a bundle with the older ones too)pro evolution 13 and little big planet.Games are pretty cheap atm in my country so it's the best time to buy them.

To those who said that i shouldn't buy a ps3 and w8 for ps4 or get a better computer , well i won't be able to get ps4 or a better pc for the next 2 years till i finish with uni, cauz it's so hard to find a job right here now. So one day when i'll have the money for it i'll get the ps4 too :) -- i've been looking up the news for it and it's gonna be an awesome console but i think the best time to buy it, won't be this year cause it's gonna be too expensive like was ps3 back in time.. :P

Don't buy it. The new consoles are coming this year. Also, I think it would be better buying a 360 instead of a PS3 because the controller is a lot more comfortable and also has better specs.
