Bump!
I recently started playing Bioshock Remastered. I like it, but the frequent crashes are making it hard to emerge myself in the story.
In 7 hours of playing, i had to start over from the beginning 3 times because the autosave corrupted my savefiles and the manual save has a chance of corrupting itself + crashing the game as well.
I loved Bioshock Infinite and so far the story of Bioshock Remastered seems interesting. I just hope they can fix the crashes so I can actually make some progress.

I had absolutely no issues with the game. Shame that you do :/

Hey there. I had the same issue (it would crash during saves from time to time), but what you should do is use every single save file you have, and save as often as you can. Once all the save files are used (I hate limits, which is why I love Fallout 3 with my several hundred save files, lol!), save over the ones from the beginning.
Leave one save file from each section alone, just in case you forgot something and need to play a section again (without starting the game over). For example, one Medical Pavilion, one Neptune's Bounty, etc.
I tended to save about once every 10-15 minutes or so. That way, if the game crashed while saving, I didn't lose a lot of progress. The issue that irked me more than the save-crashes was the game freezing and having to restart my computer. In my 50 hours of playtime (I completed it 100%), it happened only around 5 or 6 times. Pretty annoying, but it wasn't enough to make me give up on the game.
If these tips helped you out at all, I'd be interested in hearing what you thought of the game once you finish it. Please finish it. I think you will enjoy the experience immensely.:)

You're welcome. Good luck, and happy (hopefully) gaming!:)

Open-worldish games with fixed level areas are pretty nice IMO, like old RPGs. Really gives the feeling of progress as you can finally smack those ruffians and get into the slums, or accessing dungeons (Like in Arcanum, or Fallout). Environment being leveled to one gives the feeling of openness, but it reduces progress into % discovered / acquired, as the game - generally speaking - throws the same challenge at you at any point :)

I just finished getting 100% in Bioshock: Remastered early this morning. It was pretty challenging at times (the freezing of the game which required a computer restart was annoying, but infrequent enough to make me want to play), and I had a lot of fun playing it. I own the Collector's Edition of Bioshock as well. It's one of my favourite games. The setting is pretty much a character in the game, which is cool.:)

Linear story driven games.
I'm playing BioShock Remastered and damn how good it is even after all this time. And how good linear story driven games are in general.
A toast.
