Far Cry 5, standard edition.

Yeah, but only thing is... this was your first FC game if I recall correctly. It's gonna be my 4th one. Even if it's pretty much more of the same each time, I still had fun with FC 4 but got bored, it seems, faster than with Primal and FC3.

I played 1 and 2 on release, but I haven't played 3, 4, or Primal (yet). Primal will be next, then 3 and 4 for me (edit: or perhaps New Dawn).

I have FC2, never touched it. Is it worth playing (compared to the first one)? I've heard malaria and not having the possibility to fast travel was a real pain in the ass. That said, I've found a nice vid comparing 2 & 5.

That's a hard question to answer, simply because I played it when it released, and not after the more recent entries in the series ... which I haven't played yet except for FC5.
So, all I can answer is this ... I probably wouldn't enjoy it nearly as much if I played it for the first time after FC5. Would I still enjoy it? Yes, probably, since I enjoy both FPS and open-world games. And I think you can answer for yourself if it 's held up visually over time (I think it has).

Seeing your reply made me think I failed to express myself correctly. When I asked if it was worth playing compared to the first one, I meant FC2 vs FC1. I guess including a link in the last sentence comparing the amount of details shown in FC2 and FC5 was misleading.
You see, I've read many times that FC2 was THE best Far Cry game EVA. But that might have been fan boys drooling all over their keyboards for all I know... because I've also read a fair share of criticism regarding FC2, how tedious it was. Again, malaria was annoying... enemies respawning... the lack of fast travel.
Recently, I've read an article ranking the FC games and looking at the comments, some people suggested that FC1 was better than FC2. I don't have the first Far Cry and I was wondering if I should eventually get it. So, my question would be: as far as you can remember, which one did you like the most, FC1 or FC2 ?

Well, again you're asking me an odd question.
That's like asking me which I liked more, the 8800 GT or the GTX 1080Ti and why. Not sure if you catch my meaning, but you're asking me to compare games with a 4 year age difference (which is huge in games, especially back then when gaming was moving forward by leaps and bounds).
I remember being more excited playing Far Cry 1 than Far Cry 2. Would I feel the same if I'd played them back-to-back, knowing how far gaming has come since either of those games? No idea. Are they both worth playing at some point? I can't really answer that, either, because games have come so far since either of those two games. After playing 3/4/Primal, you may not enjoy them at all. :X

Yeah, I think I get what you mean... still, I do think it's possible to draw a comparison based on your personal preferences even if those games were released years apart. That said, I realize now that it's been eons since you played them... for some reason, I overlooked the fact that you played both on release. O_o So, yeah, it'd be hard to remember.
I'll probably just skip FC1... and drool all over New Dawn. Launch is apparently tomorrow. I've never been so interested in getting a game on release since Diablo 3. (not saying I'll be buying it... it's pretty expensive)

nothing.... i have enough money to buy some games.. but i don't want to pay a lot for single player games so until they hit -80% i don't buy them.
and for multiplayer games... well... nothing cath my attention....
wanted to buy the total war warhammer games with DLCs but still too expensive to buy them.... and well if i can't buy the complete game i don't buy anything.
