A lot. SG surprisingly was a good place to learn a few lessons, compared to most of internet sites which I just use for convenience with not much learning from it. And reason is, that SG is a giveaway/gifting site, people show themselves in pretty unique projection here.
Made a lot of mistakes, which gave lessons and didn't really cost much to me on the global scale as IRL things often do. I would recommend SG to everybody :3

Gave him the proper key, and he was nice enough to send a Steam support ticket to see if anything could be done about it
Why Valve should do something here? O.o
I deleted the Hand of Fate giveaway
Now Im completely confused. You created a Hand of Fate giveaway and gave the winner a Hand of Fate key? Why you are now worried about a Stanley Parable key? ....
I got a happy winner of 2 games
If you gave him the wrong and the correct key, why did you deleted your giveaway? -.-

I gave the HoF key to the TSP winner.
So my active HoF giveaway now doesn't have a key anymore.
And the Steam ticket would have been to cancel the redeem of the key (if that is even possible) so that the game is removed from his inventory, and the key is reactivated.

And humble will most likely claim OP is an active key trader/seller and they cant help him.

You mean other than registering in the first place? :P

Apparently I still happened to have the screenshot on my desktop (I really have to clean that up sometime) and it wasn't about subscribing YouTube it was Don't forget to leave positive Trade feedback. so I explained to him that he probably ment mark received and that he can't ask for fake Trade feedback but no, he was actually talking about Trade feedback. (while also giving away a different game than advertised)
And you probably know how it is when you point out to rulesbreakers that they are breaking the rules. Two out of five are understanding and try to fix their mistakes while the other 3 throw a temper tantrum.
I should probably put this basketcase back on my blacklist after I cleaned it out for the Advent calendar. I'm still on theirs anyway but better save than sorry :D

i was pretty new here and just entered randomly games. won one mass giveaway and checked it out. wasnt my cup of tea and wanted to gift it back. didnt now much about levels and cv. got many blacklists. i was stunned first but i solved the problem.
I think i still have these blacklists on me because of this. lesson learned folks. Always read the rules first.
They should add a pop up windows for new members with the rules. :D

I accidentally redeemed a win on my husband's Steam account. It wasn't an expensive game, but when it happened I didn't have a lot of money and it took me a while to buy a copy for myself so I wouldn't have an unredeeemed game on my record.

I have the bad habit of regifting the giveaways that I have won.
I hope that nobody will notice.

You reported me, right? :3

Well, not exactly here on steamgifts, but I once lost a 8 bucks game to an impersonator on steamtrades. Never again™

Why? Are you being sarcastic? If not, well can you elaborate on that? This community can sometimes be pain in the ass but most of the time its pretty friendly. True, like any community out there, there are many toxic people, bad people, people who talk without thinking etc...but there are also many friendly people who can help for whatever it may be. :)

Don't take this the wrong way. But it's really too complicated to explain. I am not even sure where i would have to begin. I'm a semi nihilistic, highly misanthropic and clinically depressed nothing that you don't have to worry about whatsoever.

Back when steamgifts let you enter the games you already won, and didn't cancel the entries for the same giveaways. I won 2 games, redeemed one and didn't know what game was... So i clicked on received on 2 of them, then i won the same game again, redeemed correctly and i thougth it was fine... But it wasn't, i got banned like 6 months after the giveaway ended because someone reported me for multiple wins of same game. That thing is following me like a ghost as i won't be able to enter any giveaway made on sgtools.

Don't know, was like 3 years ago or more. Probably yes.

I wanted to help my brother with winning some games he wanted so I sent him direct links to giveaways from forum with his wishlisted games. I tried to send him only open to everyone links but one time I didn't checked and send him sgtools protected link. Got us both banned from sgtools... I felt so bad that he got punished for my mistake :/

Joined a lot of giveaways, that i don't really want or interested in the game, won 5 of them, deleted them got 25 days suspension and "many" blacklists.. [ this was a year+ ago now ]
Lesson learned : Only join giveaways that you are into/interested/really into the game.. ( not random giveaways, no matter how many winners are selected for the ga )

2 mistakes spring to mind. I once allowed myself against my better judgement to get drawn into an argument. The second one was to setup a giveaway for the wrong game, so I ended up having to go buy a key rather than delete the giveaway or make someone miss out on what they won.

I have no regrets whatsoever besides not being active on SG sooner then I did. ^^

Long story short
I made a puzzle giveaway threadmgifts.com/discussion/osTNA/) two weeks ago, giving out a Hand of Fate key. The giveaway was to end on Xmas eve.
I then made a discussion thread in which I linked a giveaway for The Stanley Parable, that one only lasting 3 days.
But when came the time to hand in the key to the winner of The Stanley Parable, for some reason I had Hand of Fate in mind, so I innocently went on Humble Bundle and checked out the Hand of Fate key and gave it out to the winner.
Naturally, he came back to me saying that the key wasn't for The Stanley Parable, and that's when I understood my mistake.
Having given the key directly rather than sending the Humble Gift link, he couldn't know before Steam redeemed the key, so it was too late to cancel. Thanks for reading by the way, BfnHK to you. Gave him the proper key, and he was nice enough to send a Steam support ticket to see if anything could be done about it, but we got no response, so I deleted the Hand of Fate giveaway and marked the puzzle as cancelled.
