Here's a detailed response from the developer on how and why the switch is taking place.

Seems that if you buy it now you can refund and use the new version when it is released.

never heard of this before but seems like a good idea. There are too many functions to bind keys too these days and I can remember all of them.

The devs were smart and didn't allow comments on the announcement.

I think it looks like a pretty cool program and I'm sure version 2 will improve its accessibility functions even more.

Why would a person able to use their hands use this? I get that it must be super useful for disabled people, although with Windows already having some voice controls, I'm not sure how this piece of software makes it any better.

Sure, it could apply to some games. But voice control is so slow! The brain has to think of what you want to achieve, it has to remember the word or words to use, it must transmit the command to the mouth / tongue muscles and finally speak the word or words. And that's not counting the time that the software has to take in order to notice the command, understand it and then simulate the keypress.

Whereas a well-integrated keyboard-mapped command is just the though of what you want to achieve and the transmission to the finger muscles for moving and then pressing key(s).

I bought this software to use in ready or not. It works well. The delay is fine, the problem is with the recognition. I'll probably make my own recognition to key mappings software later on using more SOTA models instead of using this.

To turn into a bat when I yell BAT! obviously.

Not sure what game allows me to do that, but it would worth it.

Well obviously that would be a really good reason to buy the software and use it.
