is compare2steam.com working for you?
it compares a list of games to your steam library. so if you see a list of 100 games someone offers on steamtrades, you can check which ones you own or don't own. really helps a lot with trading. but only if it works. ;)

how can this be advertising, if i say the site just doesn't work for me. just to be clear: i have nothing to do with the site. i just use it as a tool, like many other traders aswell.
if i mention steamrep.com here, would you accuse me of advertising, too? or enhanced steam?

damn, you got me! if you don't tell anyone, i will raise your win chances by 50%, ok? :)

btw, if anyone knows an alternative, i would love to hear it. some threads on steamtrades list 1000 games. it's just impossible to compare all of those manually. so, is there any other site that does the same?

can do it manualy. export your steam list for example from steamcalculator table to an Excel file, organize it in column A. Save it for later. Then whenever you want to check something - paste list from trade thread to column B. Compare Column A and B and highlight differences using easy rule ;)
That's what I've been doing, as I never heard of compare2steam before ;p

an interesting way of doing it. but i'd prefer an automatic solution in the long run. ;)

after you make a soreadsheet with specified rules it is pretty much automatic - whenever you need it you just paste a new set of games and look through them ;) And just add your new games to the list what takes few seconds ;)
What is good about having your own spreadsheet is that you are not dependant on any external software or webpage, that can go down any time ;) And in case of library as big as yours you don't have to wait every time until all your games get loaded ;)

It's working. Seeing you have 3.2k games. You'll probably need to wait maybe ~5minutes to load everything. Depending on your processor and network connection too.
What you want to do is:
1) Log out on compare2steam
2) Login to compare2steam to do a complete refresh on your account
3) Wait for 5minutes or when it is done getting all your games/wishlist
4) Close tab
Modify this link and use it:
http://compare2steam.com/?steamid=[SteamId64_number]&wanttouselocalstorage=on
I.E. for my account: http://compare2steam.com/?steamid=76561198046980920&wanttouselocalstorage=on
The problem with that is, you need to do a full refresh on your account everytime you added a game on your library or wishlist (Step 2).
Advantage is, the loading time should be less than 20 seconds everytime you load that link.

that local storage thing might solve my time-out problem. thanks, will try it.

don't you see this: "compare2steam.com has expired Because of this, the existing content of your website is not showing. If you are the registrant of this domain name and want to continue the use of your website, please contact MijnInternetOplossing B.V. with an email to info@mijninternetoplossing.nl to renew the domain name."
Are you getting a 404 error or what? It seems pretty obvious that noone can get to that site.

The site was working fine up until a few days ago, now it says:
"MijnInternetOplossing B.V.

Does anyone know the web master or if the site will be coming back?

Is there an alternative site to compare2steam? Much harder to trade without it when I have thousands of games.

I am not aware of any alterrnative, sorry. But I am also pretty much done with trading for the most part.

Works when I tried it. http://www.thefunkygibbon.net/index.php
Doesn't work exactly the same way, but hey, it does the job. FYI, I got it from the 'Compare & Bundle List ' section on https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=451698754

I made this one as an alternative: https://compare.tinychan.net/
Nerdchan still works for me as well.

Well done sir! Could you implement an option to be able to hide owned games from the results?

Because if you compare some huge lists you have to scroll all the way down.
By the way the page is not loading for me right now.

i have to say, compare2steam does not work for me at all. i am trying to use it for days now. i can imagine they have quite a heavy server load. it's a shame, really. such a useful site, and it just doesn't work for me. it loads my wishlist, my game count, and then it just stops (probably times out). maybe it's because i have too many games, and the site is not able to load all information before the time-out triggers.
how is your experience with the site? does it work for you?
