And the game is: Shenmue I & II

Get me those credits.

Wow, your gib is already much more profitable than mine! Congrats!

every winner of the auction collects "profits" from his/her giveaways by getting credits amount equal to initial bid of the auction multiplied by number of entries in the giveaway. The more entries, the more credits you will have for future auctions!
is this calculated in "somehow" real time ?

The auction is a nice thing to do and kudos to those involved. It seems every auction is just going to go to the first person to say 2500 and just about every auction will have a person do that. To many holes in this giveaway idea.
Seems the best thing for this auction is just to wait till the person who went mad with their points to post the link to redeem themselves and the rest of us can use our SG points to win it and carry on using the site as normal.
Edit: This is also going to create a ton of spam

Added new rule:
Bot won't hear you if you get outbidded in the meantime by somebody before you in the same "window" (of 30 seconds). You have to be the first one to bid after previous bid gets accepted.

Unfortunally I can foresee. And that was a reason I was banned from "random" keydrops on HRK

I don't get it. it says max 3 times... there was a bit saying 1000 and i jumped on 2500 and it did not count

All calculations are apparently based on the latest valid bid. So it's best to refresh and search for the latest bid that got a positive response from ArchBot before you make your bid (to see what points-range is allowed).

Last bid status is always included in the thread
Forgot about that. By the way that's also what's causing the comment-errors in case anybody has been wondering (because the thread title has changed)

Yeah, it wasn't ment as critique but rather FYI for anybody else who might read it because I saw somebody wondering why their comment wasn't posted.

Hmm, I think there is still some issues. Or is this one correct: https://www.steamgifts.com/go/comment/fCAPQnp

The Dark Lord is rising! (As foretold by the Great Prophet PsychoApeMan in another thread.)
There's already an auction won with an unspeakable amount of 2501 dark credits obtained through the dark ways of darkness!
We must all unite! Enter LINK REMOVED, save the dream!

Are giveaway created by you guys or we can create our own to get point??

In case you're wondering, support themselves said that it's a bit different when you outright use SG for advertising something for your own gain vs something more no-gain-related, like event, giveaway thread or other discussion.
I don't want to get too serious on this matter, since we're all having fun, but I don't really consider it a double standard. If you treat every thread on SG equally and it doesn't matter for you what is its purpose, then yes, you could see it as double standard, but otherwise, I don't see it as anything else than jatan's 1k counting threads or <insert your generic what-I-feel-here-are-gibs thread>. This is not a generic "look, they're worse than me!" because those cases are distinct, it's more like "look, I'm not doing anything wrong, people were doing it all the time" on top of "it's for all of you to have fun!" Sure not everybody would agree with that, I don't hope for that much, I'm rational.
I wouldn't have anything against people organizing SG community events and utilizing sane amount of "space" for that purpose (see: my 4 auction threads + 1 main). SG staff also didn't see anything bad in it, even if I kept ticket open for a full week and considered concerns of everybody who wanted to leave a reply. I wanted to be clear on that and ensure that they share my point of view, if they didn't, I'd not do that against their will.
It's definitely something unique that didn't happen here in the past, so there is no way everybody will say "oh great, we've always waited for that", but it's not like I have any other intention than to let people have some fun, even if I realize that you doubt it to the extreme and trying to find my evil masterplan in all of that.
I just say forget old grudges and join the fun, giveaways are for everybody, and if people will have some unique fun that they never had before for barely 2-3 upcoming days to a week, I doubt somebody will get hurt. If anything, I want people to remember this event as something positive, why would I waste over a day of programming it otherwise?
Not sure how you feel in particular, but we had a lot of fun preparing it, and people despite of some initial issues and concerns, also seem to be having fun, if not from participating in the game then from the gibs alone. At the worst case you can see it as majority of SG community having big party in the middle of the city with authorities allowing it to be organized for one night, despite of extreme noise for the rest. Is it OK for the old man trying to sleep next to it? Of course not, but it's not like we're taking that sleep from him every night.

We are supposed to earn more credits based on how many people enter a giveaway that we decide to share, but when are those credits given out? The giveaways end when the event ends, so it wouldn't make much sense to give credits when the giveaway ends and while the giveaway is open, the number of entries will fluctuate.

dys is correct, this was answered by Archi here: https://www.steamgifts.com/go/comment/f2gh25r

I didn't expect this to happen:
Error. You reached the daily discussion limit (15).
Posted a support ticket and in the meantime thinking of how we can continue our spamfest event through other means, stay tuned!
Update: cg is sleeping, so I'll code reuse of old threads in the meantime and we can continue, ETA a few hours probably, at worst we'll postpone the event by a day or two. NOT DEAD YET! (at least not dead before I'm suspended)
I'll touch a lot of things during this rewrite, so don't be shocked if website will temporarily stop working.
Update: FIXED.

Could just use a single thread, and use separate comments in the thread as separate auctions (then users would bid to the comment instead of the discussion).

OK, since we're on a break, I have a question:
"if the giveaway gets less than 5 entries then it is a candidate to be re-auctioned in the next batch"
Like, immediately? Does the winner not get a period of time to find their 5 entries before the game is a candidate for re-auctioning?
Comment has been collapsed.
I've been thinking and to me the most obvious problem as the bids are right now is that is more of a game to see who can shout 2500 at the right moment than an actual auction, not all that different from trying to be nth comment on a thread.
A real auction needs some sort of variable roof to work, if every bidder went in with the same amount of money it wouldn't work. It kinda makes me want to give it a try at designing an alternative take on the SG auction idea.
Comment has been collapsed.
With new rule there is time management now and you can't just bid 2500 and call it, with 30 seconds windows you need to shout not only the price but at the right time, it makes it far less scripted and far more enjoyable because you have to be first and you can't just wait for other people to bid before you, but rather for archibot to register.

Still feels more like a competition to win a race than an auction, at least to me. There's no risk of overpaying so there's no reason to hold back, the only reason why people don't go for the maximum right away is because the system doesn't allow it.
Comment has been collapsed.
If you overpay and spend 2500 credits on 1P bundled game that everybody owns then you won't get anything back and won't be able to bid anything else, sounds fair to me.
Give the event a few days and only people that won popular gibs + newcomers will still have credits.
Plus they can't be online 24/7 bidding.
Comment has been collapsed.
Fair, but I'm willing to bet that newcomers is something we won't run out of, there's always at least a few hundred people lurking around in the forum.
My main issue comes from how it being free of any substantial effort makes it feel like playing a slot machine without having to put any coin in it, so it doesn't feel like you can lose anything other than time, and that already is the nature of this site so... I dunno, it feels like it lacks something.
Comment has been collapsed.
Understandable, it just happens that it got me thinking and trying to figure out why I wasn't feeling any risk when placing a bid, just urgency. As someone who is really averse to betting anything ever whenever I come across something related to it that doesn't trigger any sense that I might lose something my brain starts desperately looking for what is wrong and how it works.

Welcome to TouhouAuction!
The craziest SteamGifts event that we've organized so far!
The rules
For the next few days we'll organize giveaway auctions. Giveaway auctions will be hosted as SteamGifts threads for all of you to participate in. In each auction thread, a randomized amount of details about the auctioned game will be revealed. Then the initial bid is announced, which is always equal to the SG points required to join the auctioned giveaway (so you can use it as an extra hint).
Afterwards the game starts. You place your bid by replying directly in the thread with your bid amount in the form of whole numbers, for example "100". Every bid has to be greater than the last one, and can't be bigger than a triple of the current one. If nobody places a new valid bid for 2 complete rounds (going twice, and gone), the highest bidder wins access to the giveaway! Such finished auction is then closed as SG thread and we move on to the next one. We might reuse old auction threads for new auctions, see why in FAQ below.
If you happened to win our auction, first and foremost, congratulations! You can claim your prize in the form of a giveaway link on our event website where you'll sign in through Steam to confirm your identity, and access all of your winnings afterwards.
You're free to share all giveaway links that you've obtained from our auctions, be it with your friends, in your groups, or even here in the thread. I'm stating it clearly because it's core part of our game, do whatever you wish with them. We recommend doing it in separate thread so it's on top.
This thread is going to remain open for the entire duration of the event. You're more than welcome to share your opinion and giveaways (if you want to), suggest possible ideas and discuss all other aspects of our little game. Personally I like this idea so much that we might decide to make it a recurring event if everybody has as much fun as we had making it happen. Now fly! To the auctions!
FAQ
How do I join the game?
Simply find the auction that you're interested in and place a valid bid. If you win the auction, the giveaway link is yours! You start with 2500 credits and you may use them to bid any auctions of your choice. Auctions will start in one hour since posting of this thread.
We've also coded a basic overview on our website with real-time updates in case you'd be interested in it.
I posted a bid but nothing happened!
Chill, ArchiBoT checks discussions every 30 seconds to put some rest on SG server. You'll get your response soon! If by any chance the time has passed and you can see other messages being parsed and yours didn't, then very likely you didn't put it as a direct reply to the thread. There is a possibility of small delay if we find some game-breaking bug and need to hotfix ASAP, but we hope this won't be needed!
OK, I posted a valid bid, but bot didn't hear me?
Bot won't hear you if you get outbidded in the meantime by somebody before you in the same "window" (of 30 seconds). You have to be the first one to bid after previous bid gets accepted.
Can I change my mind? Back out?
Editing/deleting comments is valid until we leave you a notice of registering it (you can't back out afterwards). Replies to existing comments are ignored, we honor only direct comments in the thread. If you'd like to discuss some event aspects, please do that in this thread, leave auction threads for a(u)ction!
How do I earn more credits?
You might be shocked, but the only way to earn more credits is to share the giveaways! Wait what? Yes, every winner of the auction collects 5 points from every entry in his/her giveaways. The more entries, the more credits you will have for future auctions!
Wait, so where is the catch? Can I just decide to not share anything and claim all giveaways for myself?
Yes, the giveaway is yours, you can join it and nobody is going to take it from you. But no, if the giveaway gets less than 5 entries then it is a candidate to be re-auctioned in the next batch, effectively making somebody else win the giveaway link in addition to you. This will repeat until the giveaway gets the desired 5 entries or gets auctioned at least 3 times (and therefore won by 3 different people). If by any chance, despite of that the giveaway will still not get 5 entries by the end, we reserve the right to share it publicly with everyone to satisfy this demand.
Now, whether you decide to let just 4 of your friends join the giveaway or allow it to get re-auctioned is entirely your choice. Remember that every single one of those people might freely share the giveaway link further, since giveaway creator (with us as organizers) clearly stated that this is allowed. This is why it might be a good idea to refrain from posting the giveaway link further if you want to claim it for yourself rather than get more credits from it. I mean, it's not like somebody would say no to that sweet MONSTER HUNTER or NieR, right?
When are auctions going to be posted?
Our beloved ArchiBoT will stay on duty day and night for as long as needed to ensure that there are up to 4 ongoing auction threads active at any single point in time, until we run out of all of them that is. Therefore, the answer is, all the time!
How many auctions there will be? When the event will end?
Officially the giveaways are set to end on 11/11/2018, also the 100th anniversary of Poland independence day. We're likely to run out of giveaways to auction before then, so the sooner you join the fun, the more giveaways you can win!
But I need to sleep!
Me too! Well, ArchiBoT won't be able to progress with the auction if nobody places a bid, so if you somehow convince all of SG to wait for you, then it's fine! Otherwise... sleep lightly, you can never know when NieR pops up! :3
Don't you think this is going to be a bit... spammy?
A bit, for sure, but I don't really consider this event to be any bigger pressure neither on SG server, nor on SG community itself. Regardless, I'm not a mod, so I've reached the SG staff through a support ticket asking for feedback. Out of 6 staff members that stated their opinion, nobody raised any concern over technical aspect of our organization, so I believe it's going to be fine. Of course, we'll be monitoring the situation for the entire event duration and take notes, if SG suddenly blows up, I'll know who is responsible for it... :3
OK, but can't you just open new thread for each auction? Those old reused threads look ugly.
I know, this is how it worked before we stumbled upon this issue. If cg responds to my support ticket in due time, we'll continue with new threads, otherwise we need to reuse existing ones. Sorry, SG rules are above me, I hope it's not too much of inconvenience for you ;_;7
Despite of that, everything seems to work correctly, so I suggest to stick with the thread title and the OP for details, you can bid afterwards without even checking where the "end" of the thread is.
Huge thanks to the people that made it happen:
Feel free to discuss all other matters, we'll be happy to answer all your questions, concerns and other event-related messages!
Extra giveaways provided by the community (and exposed auction giveaways) are included in this thread.
