there are many threads with the same topic^^
http://www.steamgifts.com/discussion/cgv0B/from-lvl-4-direct-to-lvl-1
for example
so in short:
a game got bundled (but still not in the bundled list)
you bought the game and have made a ga
the game was put in the bundled-list with the date, when it got bundled (so a date in the past)
your level drops^^
it happens to most of us

you will not loose your cv, if you give the game away, before it got bundled in some shop^^ only if you give it away, after it got bundled, you will lose the cv, when it got it into the list backwords^^
also: you will still have 15% of the value.
its happend, to prevent people buying fast a new bundle (before it got listed here) and raise their cv very cheap^^

I understand that, but I also checked when I BOUGHT (not GA) games and I got em before they were bundled.
The game changed my CV is the "12 Labours of Hercules II: The Cretan Bull" which got bundled Sep 7, 2015 and I gave it away 4 months ago. Should have not changed CV, right?
How to survive got bundled also, but I was already lvl 3 when I was giving away that so even if they would take my CV from there I still should be lvl 3.

12 Labours of Hercules was not on the bundle list (edit: when you made a GA for it) and you are getting full credit for it.

Also there is currently a bug with the Daedalic games showing the wrong value. So Deponia is not actually worth $24 as a bundled game. Your CV will drop when the bug is fixed.

I am not talking just about me. I am talking about that there is no such thing as "If you abuse blah blah you will get your CV reduced to the level blah blah". If there is nothing like this in rules then why do I lose?
I wouldn't be mad nor surprised if there is such thing as this in rules.
Cause if I read the rules I am already prepared for such thing to happen. Other way I am just upset and feel like this is not cool.

From the site FAQ http://www.steamgifts.com/about/faq :
Giveaways for bundle games created after the bundle date will always receive 15% of their value. For example, if you gift 2 copies of a $20 bundle game, you would receive $6 (3 + 3) in value towards your level. Keep in mind that changes to the list of bundle games will apply retroactively, so if a bundle begins today, attempting to gift the game before it's added to the list will offer no advantage. Games may also be added to the bundle list if they're available for free during a promotion, or if they're highly discounted in a sale.

Hope you understand why I am upset.
But yes, I am sorry I missed that in FAQ. Anyway the screens shows everything. Even though it's in Polish I am sure you get it.

Here's the reason:
http://www.sgtools.info/lastbundled
Chivalry was added to the bundle list yesterday, but it reached bundle price on June 16.
As I said, it's happened to everyone. We don't always know every sale that's ever happened. I got hit by Risen 3 - Complete Edition because it was bundled before I joined SG but not added to the list until after I made a GA for it.
You say oh well and move on.

You should change the pic that you are providing your steam loginname is visible. Not really good for security purposes.
Although it is 1 out of 3 parts needed (steamname, steam pass and acces to linked mail adress) try to keep it secret. Make it black with paint or so :D

No it isn't. http://www.sgtools.info/sent/Kapek
Seriously, dude, learn how this site work before saying things like that. Also, there is some nice thing called 'search feature'. Try to use it in future before making a new thread.

If leveling up is your main goal when giving away games, then yes you are probably better off not doing it.

The rule was not put there to piss people off, it was put there to prevent people from taking unfair advantage of extremely deep sales on games while getting full retail price credit applied to their CV level.
Here's some tips if you are concerned about your CV.
Before you make a giveaway, check here to see if it's already on the bundle list:
http://www.steamgifts.com/bundle-games
Tip 2: if the game is being offered on Steam for 85% or more off, don't take the chance because it's probably discounted even more than that in some other countries where Steam operates.
Tip 3: Sometimes it take awhile for the bundle list to get updated because there's only one person doing it. So get used to the fact that this will happen to every person on here once in awhile. Everyone of higher level than you has been through it. It hits people around level 2-4 the most. The more you rise in level, the less likely these hiccups will affect you.
Comment has been collapsed.
The "legal" cause is because everyone is treated the same. The site mods have no way of knowing if your GA was innocently made without knowing it had been deeply discounted or if you ran out and bought the game during the discount and are trying to gain an advantage over others who missed the sale.
Comment has been collapsed.
you don't lose cv. it goes back to how it was supposed to be in the first place.
by the way i have more bad news for you. when the sale for The Daedalic Armageddon Bundle is over, the cv you got from Deponia will decrease to 9.99*0.15
from 159.99*0.15
if you gave it away after it was bundled. otherwise it will decrease to 9.99 from 159.99.

Or could it be that the game he gave away has it's price changed?? happened to me twice XD
Comment has been collapsed.
no, its Chivalry: Complete Pack which got in the bundled-list^^
Comment has been collapsed.
see it this way: the game should have been listed as bundled game many months ago, but it just got now listed. so you got some months with a higher lvl, than you should have^^
Comment has been collapsed.
right? RIGHT?! that's what i always say but people don't seem to care. that's why i stopped mentioning it. nevertheless it's nice to hear it from someone else too.

I don't get it, you paid 2 euros for it and is getting $5 for CV. Why are you upset?
Comment has been collapsed.
TrinitySoul is right. if you were level 3 and it dropped to 2 its because the price of the game dropped. All game values are directly tied to steam. Example,, so if you gave away a $60 game years ago and now its on steam regular price $15 you only get a $15 credit to CV. bundle only counts from date of bundle after. he would never get to 3 in the first place.
Comment has been collapsed.
you sure it's lost? did you check the last place you left it?
Comment has been collapsed.
Yes, but the rule is 95% or higher.. :) It is of the US price. That is why games that has lower discounts gets added to the list.
In this case "Chivalry: Complete Pack" which costs $34.99 full price, ended up with a 90% discount. Which is equal to $3.49. However in Russia the price was significantly lower despite having a 90% off as well. But that's simply because of the regional prices and Russia being poor. Anyways, at 90% off their price is equal to $0.96... Yep, barely $1 for "Chivalry: Complete Pack" if you live in Russia.
When you calculate you will see that with Russia's price they got the pack for 97.26% off the US price! Hence why it got added to the bundlelist. :)

no need to explain, it know everything about it......but as discounts are in all countries the same discounts.....it´s not the very high-discounts...it´s also the "low" ones like 85% that acutally force the bundle-state....
And so 85% is a good rule to keep in mind....cause there is in fact not 95% rule written in the faq....
Comment has been collapsed.
Yupyup, but I'm just explaining in case OP will read my comment. =)
That might be true it's not exactly written, but from what the mods have told us that's how it is. :) And it's off the US price, so one can just calculate if they wan't to avoid the "lost" cv. But it really depends on the game since some games have even higher difference in price between Russia and US. It depends on how the publisher places the price.
Also, Forced had a 85% discount the other day, and it got added to the bundlelist. :)

it is now, since i can't change it to partypooper. that guy took the name forever to use only for 3 minutes. i'm uspet.

I think was onk is saying is that if the game lists for 85% off in the USA on Steam, it's probably a good bet it's 95% or more off in Russia with how rates are right now. I saw that happen recently with a game I don't remember. It was added to the bundle list.
Comment has been collapsed.
memoria found its way to the bundle-list with a date of the recent bundle....a bit later the date was changed to late august. First I thought it was an error, caused by the armageddon bundle (was of 90%) -> nobody could give away a single game from that bundle and memoria was "only" 85% of at this time, but after checking the rates in august....in fact those 85% in rub was less than 95% in $
Comment has been collapsed.
I submitted a ticket back on October 10 to add Memoria to the bundle list it was on sale at that time as a standalone game at 95.2% off in Russia. It was added to the bundler's queue. They must have dug back through more price history.

happened to me too. i suspected that the games i gifted got cheaper.
but then i also regognized that my level dropped after not gifting anything away for some time. but in the same time i have won 1 or 2 games. made a drop of 0,1 points. somehow the win/gift-ratio is connected to the steam level.

no.

That would be totally abused, even with the diminishing returns on your 5th copy and higher. Make a copy of a game, game has a price error or goes on sale = flood SG with said game because you're locked into full CV for it.
Technically any game that has been given away before the game was bundled ( not added to the bundled list, but actually discounted ) you get the full CV for it. Now, if SteamAPI changes the base price of the game that's totally different and something we all have to take the hit on no matter when the GA was created.
As always, I would recommend checking both the Bundle List as well as Is There Any Deal if you are truly worried about CV.
Comment has been collapsed.
I guess that is true :/
But maybe there would be a way to balance out a price error, but leave the bundling untouched?
Maybe I'm overthinking. But it just feels like if that kind of a thing happened, it would be me that was punished for buying the game full price, so I could share it with you guys.
I don't care about CV that much, but it's a nice icing on the cake and icing is always delicious :)
Comment has been collapsed.
Let's be real here. You got the game for a cheap price and it showed up with huge CV value, so i'm guessing you thought that would be a nice and efficient way to increase CV.So, now that CV value of the game you had got reduced to approximate amount you paid for it, its suddenly end of the world and we wont get any of your GA's?Really?
In fact, i'm guessing 80% of SG users have had same thought.I had same thought at my first days too,no point to lie about.
If you really want to rise your CV then buy expensive game and gift it, if you don't care about CV then keep gifting games to other people because after all isn't that the reason why most of us are here?
I'm sorry if that sounded offensive, i'm just tired of seeing these posts about problems that aren't problems at all.

Yet another little kid whining about his precious CV...
Plus he obviously abused Deponia bug to gain higher CV.

you are the fourth of the "anything can be bundled any time and be marked with any date retroactively" rule.

While it never feels good to lose levels or large chunks of CV, I don't think the system is unfair. You shouldn't lose more than you paid in the first place. I highly recommend you use a combination of "enhanced steam" and sites like isthereanydeal to check for potential bundled games. Sometimes a game will be on sale for 85% in your region but you can mouseover another region and see that the USD equivalent is actually 95% (this commonly happens in the russian store). If it is 95% then it will be retroactively bundled in the future. What you can't prepare for is when a game or collection is removed from steam, but support can manually edit the price from 0 to the last known price. This situation is rare, but that's the only thing that can't be predicted.
