well... i did not miss your point... as rightly suggested by you everyone will have their own opinion regarding the graphics/artstyle of a particular game .. i just want to know the general opinion of the gamers!!!

Ofc it is, good and photo-realistic are two completely different things. Trine 2 have amazing graphics and its devs achieved exactly what they tried to do. When i look at the game it 100% matches with how i imagine a perfect fairytale world. It have one of the best graphics imo.

witcher 2, bioshock infinite, and EVEN THOUGH THE TEXTURES ARE LOW QUALITY, AND THE MODELS ARE THE SAME, i still say alan wake is a gorgeous looking game. its art design and lighting were fantastic.

Alan Wake is absolutely beautiful, dat lighting. Even though I played it on the 360 (Which runs at 960x544 although it compensates it with great scaling and 4X MSAA) I was amazed at the scale of the environments and how they managed to use lighting as a gameplay mechanic.

well... any suggestions welcome.... nice art style or best graphically looking game...for ex: limbo, braid, trine 2 etc has a great art style whereas crysis series, metro etc look graphically gorgeous

+1 for Trine 2: I think it has the best "fairy tale" style graphics, expecially in movement.
I like Portal and Portal 2's design. Same goes for Antichamber.
I'm not a pixel-fanatic, but I really liked Sword & Sworcery's style, the colour palette in particular.
Also American McGee's Alice and Madness Returns.
RAGE's sky looks great.
And back in the day Riven was impressive.

I haven't played it, and I didn't mean it like "dude, the sky looks shit".
After saying that you like the design in Portal, the color palette of S&S, the graphics of Trine 2, saying that one game has a nice sky just made me laugh. Like if you would have said that it has great chair textures. No bad intention.

Battlefield 3 and the new NFS games if you want pure graphics

Bastion and Don't starve are original and gorgeous.

I don't know wich kind suits your tastes the most. Anyway i think that if you want realistic graphics, you should search among the AAA games. The indie ones usually have an uncommon and "more artistical" graphic design.
