I don't think these coupons are valid for Battlefield 3. Which is quite hilarious.

"(except pre-orders and new releases)."
Yeah that pretty much sums it up :/

Might still be good considering that Origin is having their Black Friday sale soon, which doesn't sound amazing by itself, but stacking this discount on top of any purchase would make it all that much better :p

It shocked me, now they modified it, but it seems like a "Yeah we're checking absolutely everything you have in your computer, but dont worry we're just checking 'cuz we're curious ;)"
Not a drop of trust honestly

I have read it, and just reread it...nothing out of the ordinary. I think something that people often get confused about is the meaning of the word "Application" (with the capital A). This refers to the Origin client, not all the programs on your computer. So the Origin EULA is stating that it collects usage information about how you use the Origin client (e.g. if a game installation fails, if it is using a lot of memory, how many hours of a game you play...gee, that sounds a lot like what Steam does).

People like to exaggerate. I don't actually blame them. Supporting EA isn't a nice (or smart) thing to do.
Besides, Origin is pretty useless.

This is a Steam-oriented website after all :) I understand the sentiment and distrust, EA has done very little to earn that trust. Meanwhile, Valve has done many things to earn customer good-will. Just trying to dispel some misinformation.

Exactly this, if i knew EA has given a great support with other titles, or at least the plattform would run well enough (i remember the first time i installed Steam, it consumed as much ram as WinVista :P, but it didnt have THIS kind of problems), then there wouldnt be so much complaints about it.
As of now updating a game is a pain in the ass, with my crappy internet connection (around 150kb/s avg download speeds) i download something out of Origin at 20kbs top, add the fact that is completely unnecesary considering it doesnt manage any kind of ingame servers, like say Steam and TF2. Also prices are screwed up, i had to use a VPN just to buy the game in dollars (when i first loged in it took my ip as being in Europe, so the game was 50Euros.....
Eventually these things will be fixed i guess, but considering i only use it for BF3, i can let some things pass.

"EA values its customers. Please accept this 20% Origin discount code for your next purchase on Origin store on any already released game (except pre-orders and new releases).
The code can be redeemed at: http://store.origin.com and is valid for 30 days from the date of issue."
I know i wont be using it, so i'm offering it to whoever wants to buy something off there (maybe BF3? who knows?) I know Origin is pretty crappy, and i only run it when i'm going to play BF3 specifically, but hell its a discount :), if someone wants it, then add me on steam and i'll give you the code.
Its not a steam gift, but its a start i guess :).
