Question about region locks (LVL 5+ GA inside)

I made a GA for Ryse: Son of Rome.

The problem is that it is a "Region-locked game -This Product will NOT activate in the following regions:
Russian Federation; Armenia; Azerbaijan; Belarus; Georgia; Kazakhstan; Kyrgyzstan; Moldova, Republic of; Tajikistan; Turkmenistan; Uzbekistan; Ukraine."

I put that in the GA description, but im not sure if i should had made it Region Locked or something when i created the GA. Is there any way to put it as locked but just for some countries?

no, not really. just what you see in the list unfortunately and no way to select multiple regions. to avoid any complications in the future you could just randomly select one of the regions it will certainly redeem in however.

Thanks for the answer. I don´t want to delete the current one because a lot of people already entered in it and it doesn´t seems fair. I hope i won´t have any problem...

Since you put it up as a public, the chances for a winner to be from those affected countries is around 20-33% at best.

Don't worry too much until you find a winner though. Deepsilver is known to have really stupid region locks, but this is thankfully not a game published by them. Bundle Stars is also often putting up region-locked information that is not really accurate. Maybe to deter trading, maybe because they interpret some region-locks wrong.

The region lock information you see is actually completely wrong, since ROW keys for the game do not have region locked and will be able to activate in RU/CIS even the store page you bought the key says otherwise.

I bought it from the bundlestars stardeal (https://www.bundlestars.com/en/game/ryse-son-of-rome).

I hope you are right and that region lock isn´t true :D

I have been dealing with their almost always wrong region lock information all the time. Sometimes the key will activate worldwide despite what they say about the restrictions, namely Metro 2033/Last Light Redux keys sold to European users, and some other time the restriction note doesn't include countries that actually cannot activate the key.

You have to do your own research by checking with SteamDB. In this case the ROW key is the same one as the package sold on Steam store, which all countries, including RU/CIS ones use. If this has a region lock against RU/CIS users then they won't be able to buy it on Steam.

Valid question. I don't know, but I think it isn't possible to keep certain regions or countries out. TY for the giveaway.
