Built on budget, handles any game just fine so far:
board: some gigabyte FX990 chipset
CPU: AMD FX6350 (huge AMD fanboy here)
GPU: XFX GTX 660Ti Jetstream
8 gigs o´ram (1600, passive cooled, kingston), 128gb ssd (ocz agility 2), 1000gb data-grave, powered by a 550w XFX psu (80+silver and, important for me, just a single power rail) several fans :), no dvd or blu ray or whatsoever.
Quite a cheap deck, but powerful enough for 1080p resolution.

Uhh... I'm still on a Pentium D 930 3.0 GHz with a AMD Radeon HD 7770 GPU.
Pretty custom I should say.

Altering a complete pc to be my complete pc, got custom ram (Crucial ballistix elite, 2x4 gig @2000 mhz), a EVGA GTX 770, corais 850 AX (85 % efficiency, 850 wat(t)s still have the old acer fmp55 mobo, the old i7-860 cpu and the old case, getting a new case tomorrow along with another 200 mm fan, saving for a cpu with a l87 1150 motherboard, prolly a MSI or Gigabyte one, the cpu shall be a k versio, perhaps the i7 4770k

Scarmiglione will be five years old next month:
Cost about $1400 and was my first custom build after tinkering with two Falcon Northwests and a Sager laptop (and a couple other very old comps in the 386-era).
I've since added one more hard drive (2TB), but otherwise it's still pretty much the same as it was when I first built it.
The main priority was silence. Secondary consideration was music creation, and third was gaming. Still handles most everything fairly well, but the very latest crop of games this year is starting to push it. I'd build a new one, but I can't afford it -- this one will probably have to tough it out for another year or two.
(Also, it's not named after the Final Fantasy character -- it, and my other computers, are named after Dante's malebranche.)

Total cost over 2600€, It's my second custom build.

Built four or five systems now, can't imagine ever buying a desktop pre built. My current rig is an i7 3770k, GTX 770, 16 GB RAM, 240 GB SSD, 1TB HDD, BD-RW. Hooked up to a 27" viewsonic 1080p monitor, razer black widow mechanical keyboard, logitech g700 wireless mouse and g930 wireless 7.1 headset.
Seriously thinking about adding a second 770 in a few months when I can afford it.

Mine's pretty old, but anyhow, laugh away:
Sometime in the future I'll upgrade a few bits, but while it still plays modern games at a decent clip and does everything I need for work, what's the point?

Im going to custom building a PC pretty soon. I need it for film school and I would like for it to handle games. I don't need a tutorial, Ive built many computers before. I just wanted to see how many SG members have custom PC's. Id like to know whats under their hood.
