Edit: This information is no longer correct, we have lowered the generation to five percent.

EDIT: Point System Now Live

If you check the top right, there's a number in brackets next to Logout, which represents your current points. At the moment, I sent everyone 100, and new users will start with 25. Now, how it works.

When a giveaway is created on the site, every single member gets 10% of that value in points. So, if I started a giveaway at this moment, for a $50 Steam game, everyone would now have an extra 5 points. When you enter a giveaway, you spend these points. If you enter for a game worth $20, you spend 20 points, and you'll see the number next to Logout drop by 20. If you decide to remove your entry while the giveaway is still open, those 20 points are returned. And of course, if you don't have the required number of points, you're unable to enter that giveaway.

At most, you can save up to 300 points. This way, people can't be inactive for months, and then return to thousands of points, entering everything.

Numbers are rounded up, so if someone creates a giveaway for a $1 game, 1/10 = 0.1 points, but that's rounded to 1, so it helps to contribute to everyone.

What do you guys think? Suggestions? I thought we'd try it out for a few days, and see how things are going. In short, this will allow people to choose which 10% of giveaways they would like to enter, giving them better odds for games they're interested in playing.

This is a really old post. And it's outdated. If you read the FAQ, at the top there is a link to the update on how points work now.

Sugestions:

  • when I create a giveaway, I receive 1 "invite card"... so, each giveaway, the author receive a "invite card" to invite more users
  • the users that create a giveaway receive 50% more points on entries that participate... that way stimulate all the users to create more giveaway
  • when I reach 5 giveaways, I receive 10% more ponits... 10 giveaways... 20% more...

I think 10% more only for 5 games is not good.. Smbdy can create 5 dlc giveaways for 1 dollar each...
It'll be better like that: if you reach 100$ on your giveaways, you earn extra 10%...

It seems one of the posters was actually Bruce Lee. I dealt with him my way.
