afaik you can, but you cant play on his dlc areas(dont know what areas the dlc added), at least thats what happened to me when i tryed it. i could play with my friend a-ok even if he did have a powerfull weapon from the start :)

Yes you can.

-- But as Everlonging wrote; you cannot play Blood Arena in Co-op since you do not own it. You can play the normal game though.

The last DLC, Ryder White, is a single player only campaign.
