Valve updated the key system. Once you enter three invalid keys, you're locked out of entering more for either fifteen minutes or an hour, I can't remember which. Even if you enter a legit code, it will show as invalid.

It's not a good way to giveaway a game IMO, if you put too many invalid tries you gonna temporally locked out the entering keys system for your account... And must of the people don't know this, so they will keep trying to enter the key, failing...
