It might be a little tricky since everything is user generated content. If there's enough interest though, I'll see what's available, check the Google API, etc.

Yep, he's right, we'll be running the giveaways over here.

i love this site ^_^
i got one suggestion: marking the giveaways you have already entered -> for example: on the list of giveaways some little red text which says 'You entered this contest.' or something like that ;)
keep going!
btw the design of the site is flawlessly perfect
second suggestion: categories for forums just like on steamgamesales. ;)

Good point, the giveaways on the homepage could use a little icon or color change to signify they've been entered, without having to open them up. I'll see what I can do.

Only 10 comments per page this time but unlimited replies? Seems good to me, much easier to keep things organized.
As an addition, what about a search function for the Forum? Maybe for the giveaway comments as well. Its great to find things you read once and cant find anymore :D

So anyways, do I have to have the game immediately before proposing the gifting? I don't really know how to work around the Steam gifting system. I guess I would deal with that as soon as the winner's e-mail address appears.

It's up to you. You could either purchase the gift after the giveaway ends, or buy it ahead of time, and gift it to a temporary e-mail address. If you go the second route, it'll show up in the Steam interface under Games/Manage Gifts and Guest Passes, with the status Sent. Then you can simply select it, hit Resend, and enter a new e-mail address.

A guide to gifting page may be useful, with screenshots to illustrate.

I'm wondering what if clicking on the image of the game on the main screen (which lists the different giveaways) took you to the game's steam page as opposed to taking you to the comments section.
It made sense to go to the comments before 'entries' and 'comments' became clickable, but since then I always use those links instead. Today I instinctively clicked the picture to try and find out more information about the game, before diving into the comments.

Well, there is a link to the steam page on each giveaway's page, right under the entry button and next to the price.

Okay so I have an idea that's not very well thought out of. Obviously there's gonna be those types of people who enter all the contests where the more conservative members only enter for the games they would like. My idea is membership privilege where new members can only enter 1 or 2 contests and overtime they either gain more entry privileges and rise through the ranks (Not sure what ranks should be aside veteran members). I haven't thought about prevention against multiple steam account users though so this idea's still in the works and seeing how the site is new, everyone would be affected by the limitations.
Thanks for hearing me out

We could still use my "I do not want to enter this Giveaway"-Button :D

I love this idea, I'm always entering contests since I don't have a lot of money for games. This is just awesome!

First off, thanks to the users that helped with testing the past week. I think we worked out all the issues, and we're ready to move things forward. Although we still have a number of features on the to-do list, it'll be great to get a few more users involved.
At the moment, we're invite only, and invites have been sent out to all the generous users who have previously sponsored a game at SteamGameSales. As well, to say thanks to the active community over there, invites have also been sent to the top one hundred commenters.
SteamGifts.com gives users the opportunity to win free Steam games, while at the same time, giving them the ability to both create and manage giveaways of their own. Currently, giveaways can be created for the entire community, or they can be invite only. These private giveaways are hidden from viewers, allowing you to personally invite only your friends, Steam group, or members of your website. Winners are selected at random by SteamGifts.com the moment a giveaway closes, ensuring all entries have an equal chance of winning. A simple feedback system is also in place, where giveaway winners can check a box when their gift has been received via e-mail.
If you have any questions, or suggestions for the site, please let us know. Thanks!
