Hello,

So recently I changed my mind completely about Steamgifts, I thought I would ONLY enter games I'd really like to put some serious time into, e.g wishlist. I won't ever again randomly enter giveaways which I won't even touch, however wishlist doesn't display games with packs or complete or GOTY stuff, but that's not a problem, so then I thought I'm gonna start hiding all games I don't want, there's really lots of them, and it's very tedious. Not like I'm complaining, I'm totally okay with slowly hiding them day by day.

However, then what if I thought one day I want to see all currently running giveaways? for whatever reason, I'm more concerned about seeing who has whitelisted me, and what GA's they're running, so I'll whitelist them back and thank them for whitelisting me, you or somebody else might have another reason, so opening another browser or logging out won't solve this issue. So then I thought do I have to remove all if not thousands, hundreds of games from hide list? it'd be worth maybe one go, but then.... hiding all of them over again... would be serious hell. So I came up with this solution below.

TL;DR

I'd like to suggest something like this, having ability to toggle Show/Hide all currently hidden games, without having to remove them.

Here's the upsides:

  1. When you toggle it on, all giveaways which you had hidden would appear, despite being hidden, when you toggle it off, all hidden giveaways disappear.
  2. It lets you see who has whitelisted, since there might be people who make giveaways which you have hidden, so you never know that they had whitelisted you.
  3. Makes it easier to see all hidden giveaways instead of removing all of them, or logging out/using another browser.

Here's the downsides:

  1. There are no downsides AFAIK, the toggle button will remain in account settings, just like how you can hide giveaways you already own, hide DLCs if you're missing base game, and hide giveaways above your level.

Have a great day!

Ah, so you mean not add or remove single games but switch between all on and all off?! What good would that do?

I'm guessing that sometimes you just want to see all the games. If you've hidden some in the past, you'd have to delete them from the hidden list one by one, what he wants is one simple toggle to show all or hide the hidden ones again.

Whenever I want to see all the games I simply log out of Steamgifts. And I have more than 4100 games hidden, it makes quite the difference ;)

lol, "getting bored of the emptiness". Interesting idea. I'm down to 3-4 pages of giveaways (of which I am regularly hiding games from), I guess that would be more interesting than logging out, which is what I do now when I want to see more giveaways (though I do that very seldomly, because with 1500 games in account and more than 4000 games hidden there's not much left I'm interested in).

Oh you're talking about steam. I thought that this section was only for suggestions for steamgifts.

So something like what Origin has?

i'd rather had an option to toggle visibility for all group/whistelist giveaways despite those games being hidden. :3

I am also a serial-hider ( 4,284 hidden games) and I wouldn't mind having this option on SG

+1

I never understood why you can choose yes or no on filter 1-3 but on number 4: "Hide Additional Games". They are premanatly hidden unless you manually remove everything by hand. It takes time if you have thousands of hidden games.

Its nice to be able to sometimes see even my hidden games. Maybe I will change my mind about a game over time or maybe I want to see if there is a hidden game on whitelist or in grouplist etc.

From my and my kin's point of view: some games are not supported on Linux, hence, we hide them. Then they become supported on Linux... but we have to manually "unhide" them... Deleting whole "hidden" list at once makes more sense.

Also... bumping more than once a month seems rude.
