I am fully aware of that this can happen sometimes ^^
But lately it´s really getting disturbing , every week a key gets revoked cuz of payment issues or dev fail, or just because why not?!

1 Statement
Hi guys, In regards to the revoked keys 20K keys were given to IndieGala for their sale and keys have been being sold since withought any payment to me from them including on other websites.
I apologise fot the inconvienience however this is on them, I will be contacting them to see what's going on in regards to the earnings as I have not seen a single penny.

2 Statement
On a side note I will work to make sure you guys get your keys back one way or another as it's not your fault, I feel like we've both been screwed over by these sale sites.

3 Statement
So who do you think is responsible? the manufactuer or the person who sold you these cars illegally?
Indiegala have your money, there is literally nothing I can do about it they're the ones that have stolen from you.
If they sold you the keys then how am I scamming you? they're the ones that have your money not me, I haven't recieved a penny.

4 Statement
Well you're targeting a developer who worked hard and instead of a large website of which has been taking your money for something fraudulently. If there's anyone that should be reported it is them, I have literally no money.

5 Statement
No they've screwed you over, they took your money because they knew they could get away with it and I'd get the blame.
Not all keys are revoked, there are 3866 I know about being purchased anything else was sold fraudulently.

6 Statement
I can promise everyone who bought a key will have the game returned at some point, I believe the issue is the keys were sold in a random order and so any key from 0-3866 in the batch are still valid as that was the amount of sales. Obviously I should of used the option to only remove unused keys as it has effected genuine paying customers as well as ones fraudulently purchased. I apologize and once again I promise in time the game will return to your library one way or another.

Funny they say that because I got my key from Groupees and it's revoked.

Edit: The mystery unfolds...

New Statement
I don't understand how groupees keys are revoked, I've only taken the file used for and sent to indiegala.

Well, if indiegala take the same way as badjuju / desura, there is definitly a big matter upon us all sitting on thousands of keys from them...
And yes, my indiegala key is unused yet, ive redeemed my Groupees key. So what the hell with payment argument ?

If that's true, I suppose it's not their first time doing something shady like this and I guess this might explain other revocation issues we've seen in the past...

I bought mine through Groupees and it has been revoked. There's something fishy about your story.

scammer developer. He not sold enough copies so he raged and punished those who bought in bundles.

Well, it might worth to report vavle to european customer protection agency that they let developers remove games without being able to open dispute about it.

If he got screwed by one of the bundlers, that is his problem. He stole my key when he deleted it. If it was 20k, then I smell a class action suit with 20000 people in it. He screwed me out of his crappy game. I'm boycotting all their games now, FWIW.

well assuming he'll make more games in the future, this will massively impact potential future sales, as people aren't going to want to do business with a developer that does shady crap..

This is the first I'm hearing about indiegala not paying developers, I know other developers have invalidated unused keys, but actually revoking already redeemed keys is kinda crap and will never end well for the developer..

Also as others have said, if this was an issue with Indiegala, why did he also revoke Groupees keys..

Reported, Negatively reviewed, negatively curated, and hoping karma will avenge those who paid for something they deserve... and had pilfered due to no fault of their own.

If there is a problem with payments by a third-party (IndieGala, Groupees, etc.), that is between them and said third party. Not Steam users...

Outside of this response he's completely ignoring Groupees buyers further cementing the fact that they're doing something shady.

Honestly I blame Valve for giving developers revocation tools. It causes a loss of trust on the platform when consumers get caught up in disputes between key seller's and developers. It shouldn't be as easy as pushing a revocation button. Even if replacement keys get issued, keeping up to date with that thread is the last thing I wanted to spend my weekend on.

Well that's how these modern licenses work... Good old time when Amazon removed 1984 from Kindles, how could things go wrong eh...

If you bought stolen property (unknowingly), by law it can be taken from you and returned to the rightful owner. The dev's response seems to me to be perfectly reasonable in this context, and the response of people who got keys revoked should be to boycott IndieGala.

Wrong. Who provided the 20k keys to IG and Groupees ? The dev.
So he must have some kind of distribution contract. Therefore the keys are not stolen, its a dispute on how the business was conducted.
IG didnt hack bruteforce to get the keys.

IG sold you a faulty product and took your money for it. Anything you get and don't pay for is stolen, except in lawyerish BS where it needs to be called fraud instead, but that doesn't change the principle of it.

Perhaps, but people who boycott the dev are still idiots. IndieGala stole his money, and you have a beef with him? Stupid.

Anyway, I believe that the value of the game to most buyers was zero, and they got that back fully. Anyone who played the game, I understand why they're upset, but I'd bet that a lot of those pretending to be hurt are upset because a game they only wanted as a +1 to their library got removed from it.

the indie gala keys were not stolen. The developer claims 15 months afterr the bundle sale that indie gala hasn't paid him but implies that he gave the keys to them for sale. The timeline is for me not believable and his problem is with indie gala the distributor in this case if what he says is true.

Yes, but that involves the police. Someone just can't break into your house/computer and claim they are taking back stolen property. The system Valve has in place to revoke keys is too easily abused as a reactionary measure and not thought out.

My key was from the Groupees Build a Greenlight Bundle 7 (2014), it got revoked as well. I also have keys from the IG bundle.
The fact that the dev revoked more than 20k keys without even knowing which bundle they are from is astonishing.
