Same here. All stairways (floors 6-12 ) filled with smoke due to a neighbor that left something cooking and forgot it.

Our neighbor called 112 because she had a few windows and a door in one room open in the middle of winter while our wood burner was on. The smoke from our chimney went straight into hers and got pulled into the house by the draft. She was nice enough to come to our house after she called 112 to tell she smelled smoke, great tactic.
Two firetrucks and two police cars showed up for a smoke smell... They had to check our entire house because that is procedure, so these firemen in full gear stormed up our narrow staircases all the way to the attic where they concluded the only fire in the house was in the 30x30cm wood burner chamber downstairs where it should be.
The neighbor got a firm lesson in what winter is, what fire is and what a flue shutter is and how to use it.

So we had some of my wife/girlfriend/hand/whateveryouwanttocallher's friends over. We watched that new Sherlock in da old times thing. Well time goes on and finally the credits roll in. As we discuss it I notice a funny smell... Others notice it as well and we try to locate the source.
We are pretty sure that it's smoke and I get a smoke detector from the closet I hate the thing so it's not on ever and it starts beeping...
Well we are like fug and we go outside our apartment and there's this even worse smell in the stairway...
We get outside and my wife/girlfriend/hand/whateveryouwanttocallher calls 112(our 911) and then we wait.
Minute or 2 later 2 firetrucks park next to us and go inside. They knock all the doors to get people outside while the chief calls to the property management so they'll get in.
They finally find the source: This guy who doesn't speak Finnish nor English was making some rice porridge and failed...
Firemen leave and everything is fine apart from our smelly apartment...
Oh and this happened between 00:00 and 01:00 so I'm tired af right now...
