Hello. I'm looking to create a nice gaming computer for as cheap as possible so I can justify buying it to my parents. I'm looking to maintain at least an 8/10 Game-Debate score (links below) for each part and I'd like to know if there are cheaper alternatives to what I have. The goal is to run Skyrim, Far Cry 3, Crysis, etc. at Medium/High with low to medium anti-aliasing and at 1366 x 768 resolution.

My CPU is an AMD FX-6300 (10/10) but I don't really need 6 cores and I'd settle for an 8 or 9 if it was significantly cheaper.

My GPU is a Radeon HD 7850 (10/10, $130) but I'm also considering an Nvidia GTX-650 Ti (9/10, $90) since it saves me $40 and is almost as good.

Suggestions, anyone? The links below will rate your part if you think you have a good one.

You could change the ram to http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231428
And you mobo is dual channel, so dont just get one stick of ram.

1) My current RAM is $50 while yours appears to be $60 after a rebate

2) Is there a benefit to having 2 x 4GB RAM as opposed to 1 x 8GB?

I would suggest - Don't care for how it looks on the outside, get the cheapest box you could find and stick it all in there.

I got a 30 dollar box by thermaltake when I could've gotten an awesome looking 400 dollar box that can pretty much make your room into a laser light show.

Cheap cases can have inadequate ventilation though. There are only two concerns you should have when it comes to cases - ventilation, and whether it has all the headers you want. Oh and size/portability if it matters.

Good point. But typically, you can change fans around if you want to minimize noise.

I'm scared of that PSU. I've never heard of that brand.

If I were you, I'd go the safe route and go for a more reliable (but more expensive) Corsair PSU that will not* blow up your PC.

A 650 Ti BOOST is 130 and is better than both those GPUs (at least the 650)

Also, you don't exactly need a CPU cooler. You'll get a stock one. If you want an even cheaper CPU, you could go with a AMD 965 x4 Black. It's a 4 core though.

You can save lots on Motherboard/CPU if you go to Microcenter. They have awesome deals and I just built my PC last weekend.... I saved $200!

Wow, thanks so much guys! Regarding the power supply, I had no idea what to do for that. I thought it was just a cord but I'd rather not blow up my new PC...

One more question: the wireless adapter--do I need it? I don't think the mobo has one onboard but how come you never see plug-in dongles on any other computers?
