Aren't people promoting a bunch of curator groups here?

I'l have the thread here for now, and if it doesn't work then a mod can tell me.

Proper protocol for these things is to check the rules and, if you can't find the answer, contact staff directly via an "Other" ticket.
I wouldn't count on staff abiding by an "if that doesn't work then correct me" request; In a sense, it'd be like counting on the management of an MMO to go long with an "But I didn't know it was an exploit!" excuse. If there's any hint that you were aware that there could be a potential problem, it tends to be easy for the associated management team to assign culpability to you, regardless of any "but I don't mean anything bad!" type statements made.
In other words, it's always best to play it safe, when there's not any kind of urgency to a matter.
Well, from my perspective, at least. You do what works for you. :P

Yeah, I think you can advertise curator groups in your giveaways, but not on the forums. (Maybe that changed. I'm not sure.)
I know that "Group Recruitment" is for SG related giveaway groups. ;)

I feel bad for OP, they're getting a bunch of conflicting advice D:

Haha! I would ask a moderator. =)
Either way, I can't see you getting into any trouble because you did ask, and you've been given different advice by different people. ;)
I think everyone is confused. XD

I will prolly keep it here for now, and if it doesn't work out, a mod can tell me.

Oh wow... haha!
Yeah, I assumed this was against the rules because people were getting suspended in the past. if that has now changed, that's cool. But there should be something clearly written, so everyone understands.

From the Guidelines:
User Projects
In this category you can show us projects you are working on. For example you could share a website you are developing, a YouTube channel you recently launched, or home renovations for your gaming / theater room. Projects do not need to be gaming related. You are limited to one open discussion per project. Each discussion should have work-in-progress or a finished product or service to show our community. Be considerate to not repeatedly bump your content if the community is not engaging with your post.
What changes do you think would make it more clear?
I mean, aside from adding subforum summaries within the subforums themselves, of course.

Was it in user projects or group recruitment and was it before or after the new guidelines went active?

Place to write about your curator, youtube channel, twitch, PC-an-a-wall is in User Projects. Basically everything that is about something you do and otherwise could be seeing as advertising. If someone does not want to see topics about twitch streamers or curators - they can unsubscribe from category
not really a user project - that's for games you made or something not just a very small curator page
We have separate category for this - Game Showcase. So if you have build of game you want to show to people - you can post it there.

I closed other topic, as it's place was not in Group Recruitment.
This one is fine, but would be better if you'd write on what type of games your curator focus. Would make it easier for users to see if it's worthwhile to click on Steam group page.

I would assume so? :o
When you promoted it back then, it must have been quite some time?

Yes, now they fit into "for category specific advertising please refer to: User Projects" point.
That way people will not try to hide curators under "group recruitment", and users that do not want to see this advertising can hide it in the side menu.

Heya!
Our group has a curator that may or may not be interesting for you.
We are and will be covering a large variety of games and provide info!
Since we cover a large variety of games, it can range from anime, visual novels, FPS and horror games!
We are also currently working on a list of LGBTQ+ friendly games that could be nice to play!
We love playing video games and like to share/recommend games for you guys!
It would help us out a lot if you guys would take a look and see if It is to your liking or not!
And if you like it, why not drop a follow? :)
