people says that morrowind is the best, i have only played skyrim... but, out there is a project to bring THE WHOLE morrowind world to the skyrim engine/game. it's called Skywind
yet, you need both games to paly it... and is not even out but if you are a fan of mods, go for skyrim.

In brief, due to your specific situation, I would say get SKYRIM! All games are highly moddable though, so no matter what you choose, I know there's a way to make it fun even if you don't like it at first. Here's why:
You are backwards of EVERYONE (Disclaimer: This only applies to people I know). From most of what I here, Morrowind > Skyrim > Oblivion or occasionally Skyrim > Morrowind > Oblivion.
Morrowind has more options and is more complex making it better. It has more choices basically. The downside, bad graphics. I myself have gotten the graphics overhaul , but it takes a huge performance hit so you need to be bucked up.
Oblivion is in the middle, medium complexity (Closer to Skyrim(Not complex) than Morrowind(Complex)) It tends to be less accepted because it doesn't grab the player as much. Story, eh, factions, eh. Going into the Oblivion portals becomes a drag real fast.
Skyrim, so not complex that a five year old could play it, BUT it's still so outstanding and does present enough of a challenge for any gamer to love. Less customization options, but looks fantastic. Fun DLC content. No matter what anyone says, the eye-candy is what really grabs the player. Has an interesting story, and come on...dragons!
Now for you specifically, you've already tried Morrowind and didn't like it. I admit it can be hard to like with how outdated it seems, but if you are open, you will realize how great it really is; HOWEVER, since you didn't like it, I wouldn't choose it. Now the tossup is between Oblivion and Skyrim. Skyrim seems to always be ranked above of Oblivion. There's not really any bad differences between the two games that I hear often, but there is certainly some changes for good, again, mostly the eye-candy, but also a few other things. Skyrim is newer, and thus, there's a better community of players. Sure, it may not be online, but there can still be a community effect based on your situation. Overall, I feel personally that Skyrim is better than Oblvion, so that is how I came to my conclusion. Hope this helped.

Note: I was reminded by others' comments. There are at least 2 full projects I know of attempting to put the world of Morrowind into Skyrim; one putting Oblivion in as well. NOW, does this mean they'll add all weapon choices back and add back those options? I have NO clue! But the story's will be there so you might as well just go with Skyrim and get those when they're released.

The main reason I like Morrowind more is because it has more options. Instead of about 4 armor choices, Morrowind has like 7-9. It has many more weapon choices as well! It makes a huge difference to have left and right pauldrons, left and right gauntlets, and separate section of body armor rather than just 1 giant chunk of armor for the entire torso.

Depends on preference. Oblivion is the in-between game of Skyrim and Morrowind. If you want some overrated older game mechanics and 'difficulty', then Morrowind. Skyrim for modern-dame mechanics and 'difficulty'.
You'll get a lot of 'Get Morrowind! Oblivion is the shittiest game of the whole series!' but Oblivion was perfectly fine, without mods. Oblivion probably has the, in my opinion, best modding community to date so that's an even bigger bonus. I'm pretty sure with the amount of mods there are for Oblivion itself, you can just about fill the whole map with modded stuff. Unfortunately, some(or most, if I recall) of the bigger mods have been removed due to unknown reasons, so you can't really experience the mods like the Elsweyr expansion, or the time-travelling mod that let you experience the different wars in the history of The Elder Scrolls.
Skyrim is just your usual AAA game from Bethesda and the likes. I like to call them the 'Big A Alliance'. I'm joking, I don't call them that. There's nothing wrong with Skyrim other than the fact that it's so different from the previous games, people overdose on nostalgia and fanboyism that they try knock it off its well-deserved high horse. For a Bethesda game, of course. It's basically a 'step-up' from Oblivion while removing and adding stuff that people pretend to care about but they don't actually care about. Example : They removed creating your own spells. Does anyone care about this? It may seem like it. Does it matter at all? No, because it was so expensive in Oblivion and that's what made it balanced. You'd get a less-than-mediocre spell for a decent price, and I'm talking about a few thousand septims for the equivalent to medium-level spells you could buy for less money. There's also duel-wielding in Skyrim which Oblivion didn't have(Unless you get the Deadly Reflex mod) and that's kicked around a lot too. Is there a problem with it? Not at all! It fixes what Oblivion's kind-of-annoying problem was. You couldn't cast a spell while whacking away with a sword, or using a shield. Why was this a problem? Imagine playing a shooter game where an enemy shoots at you whenever you come out of cover. You can only use your magical rainbow rockets when you're not using your normal attacks. How it would work in Oblivion is that you would use the spell, but you wouldn't do it in the midst of battle. It was best to back away while casting your spell so as to avoid getting your head chopped off at the resistance of a training dummy. Overall, Skyrim is bashed because it's newer and doesn't cater to the nostalgic 'fans' that can't accept change.
Morrowind is a special case since I haven't technically played it, but I have watched a few playthrough videos(at least 6-ish to get started) and whoever says that doesn't count? I've seen the game. I know what it looks like and I know how it plays. To start off, Morrowind is a game that requires you to play it to get actual gameplay enjoyment out of it. Watching it will only inform you on what it feels and looks like. Morrowind is, to put this simply because my brain hurts whenever I think about it, the stubborn grandfather that refuses to accept change. I've been in countless upon countless arguments about Morrowind vs. the later-on games and the gist of almost every single argument was 'LOLNOSTALGIA! OLD IS BETTER.' I don't have a problem with liking a game because you have a nostalgic attachment to it but lots of the 'fans' 100% ignore the idea of 'change is better'. I even remember this conversation on the steam forums where someone was bashing Oblivion and saying Morrowind was better because Oblivion had generic dungeons and was too easy. Morrowind is the dungeon simulator predecessor to Daggerfall and Morrowind is praised because it was too hard. 'Cliffrunners encountered in your first few minutes? Too bad! You suck! Cry me a river, you pathetic piece of shit noob!'
TL;DR Play them and find out which one you like the most.

And... No. I didn't really go further on about the Morrowind because it'd be like me explaining Thief if I had only watched let's play videos of it. It would be very short and not explained like somebody who has had the same thing you would see in a youtube video but in bigger screen resolution. Hell, go and download the free Daggerfall and play that. It's basically the same thing.

If you have played Oblivion and liked it, then get Skyrim without question. Lots of good replies here, so not going to rehash it all.
Even if your current PC can't handle Skyrim, still get it. The game is highly moddable and will still be a great game for years to come.
