So... you want to remove something from library, without losing stuff that you got along with it?

Are you sure you even gonna lose stuff you got along with it?

Only way I know is to go to each games 'support > remove' page. It'll show a list of games connected to it.

If your library is too messy, you can still manage your games and hide the ones you don't want to see fwiw. 300 games shouldn't be too difficult to spring clean. Or just be like me and use the library dynamic filter to find games you wanna play.

Is it even certain that removing one of the entries associated with a key activation, voids the entire transaction, hence removing everything else, too?

how can I know what does a certain key activation add to my library?

For things you have already activated:

Other than that, sites like barter.vg can show you what is included with a key. A game's page will show you what things will activate with it, and what bundles it was in. You can also search the names of bundles, and see exactly what it activates as.

For things you have not yet activated - You must rely on the source of your key (store, trader, etc). In general for Steam, there is no way to just "check" the status of a key or what is included in a key without activating it. Right before you activate a key, you can view the raw API response by clicking F12, click Network tab, and view the response of the activation request which will show you the package ID which you can then look up above.

For activated on your account games you can check info in Steam console:

  • go to console: steam://nav/console
  • enter "licenses_for_app appId" (for example, "licenses_for_app 730" for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive)
  • you will get list of licenses (subscriptions), check each of them on steamdb.info (for example, "License packageID 18939:" - go to steamdb.info/sub/18939)
