Recommend good story driven games?

Red Dead Redemption, Fallout: New Vegas, The Walking Dead, Heavy Rain, Metro 2033 & Last Light.

I have yet to play a game that has a good story. I thought this thread might have given some good succession but most of them are either games that I disagree with or they don't look that good. People in the past that I trust have mentioned Planescape: Torment though which I do own so I gotta check that one out.

Alan Wake is a good choice. Its setting is phenomenal, and the storytelling is great. It's a horror game though.

Bastion is quite nice too. The gameplay doesn't tie with the story, but the story is always so present. I mean, you're living a narration!

Conker's Bad Fur Day is a good choice too. You can't really get a more bizarre story than in this game. Great fun too, played this a LOT when I was younger.

Not a lot of people have mentionned it, but Amnesia: the Dark Descent is fairly story driven. Much like Alan Wake, it's the setting that is so compelling. Dear Esther could also fit in that category, though it's pretty much only a story, not a game.

Depending on the consoles you have access to, Okami is a great choice too. Great japanese mythical culture presented in that one too, with a quite long story.

In term of action, I'd recommend the Prince of Persia: the Sands of time (the whole trilogy). Lots of action, cool narration, and the story-line is just amazing. I still get shivers when I finish those games.

The Whispered World is great if youre looking for a game that rides on its story...
