Secret Ponchos.. Gordo Character ?

Anyone here owns Secret Ponchos and can tell me what was the deal with the Gordo Character?

I've seen somewhere that it was given for free to early buyers and is a planned DLC for later but it seems like recent buyers don't get him anymore. Clearly the promotional free game copies being given with the new promo have the mention "No Gordo" so these won't receive it, but are regular buyers supposed to still receive him ?
