Can someone explain to me how this kind of puzzle works?... If that doesn't involve giving hints...

Riddle what? The water droplets if looked at a certain angle reflect light. Our eyes perceive that light through our 3 different receptors. Each one of them is great for a certain type of spectrum. Alas we call such transformation of light reflecting off of objects as color. Depending on what light the object absorbs and what light it most likely reflects we get that blasted at us. So if the molecules of lets say grass leaves mostly absorb light molecules of certain types and can capture them into their own layers but cause other molecules, atoms and whatnot to reflect we get a certain part sent into our eye and we perceive that thing with that color it does not give back. As water reflects basically all of the colors we see the total spectrum blasted back at us but only at a certain angle. There. That is what the picture is. Now I feel very dumb if this was actually a puzzle for a game.
