You can atleast see on the woodle tree page in steam what date you got it.

Activate the code again on his account. It will say what game it is and prompt you to download it (if it is indeed the woodle tree adventures key)

you have to record on video your desktop and how you activate the key, and steam must say "you allready own this product" press next and woodle treee adv downloader should open. Thats how you can proove it.
