Do you forgive me ?
You won the game twice? Why did you enter the giveaway for the game if you didn't want to play/keep it yourself?

You could buy the game, ask for a reroll on the giveaway where you regifted the key so there's another winner there, you now will only have one apollo4x win. (I'm not 100% sure it will work but I think it will, maybe a more experienced user or mod can corroborate this?)

Yes your right, I did not realize at the moment i've done that... Can't really explain, i never resale gift usually ...
Maybe it was the big amount of copies has broke something in my head ^^
I just want to give games that i have and don't use, so nothing to hide.

I was honnestly thinking it was legit to regift like in real life when you win something, it's yours so you can do everything you want with what is yours even resale or regift.
Most promotional contests have it among their rules that explicitly forbid selling or regifting the prize product and can legally sue you for the highest sale price of said gift where they will win if you are dumb resolved enough to try the court.
So, no, it is forbidden in most other places too.
Also, if you don't want something, don't enter a raffle for it. You'd get more blacklist entries for that comment than the fact that you regifted as a newbie mistake. Regifting is a mistake that is easily remedied and forgiven. Possibly hogging a game from someone who would actually play it is a much more serious offense when we are talking about stuff people paid some money for (even if said money is in the form of time spent by the developer in your case).

Hi, Thanks for the infos about contests, I did not know it. SteamGifts is almost the only contests i enter (at least "chance contest", sometime i do creative contest).
No i'm not "dumb/resolved enough to try the court" as i've said i was not aware of the rule of regifting >_<
Yeah you right for long time i've enterred giveaways i don't really want and now i realize that's a very bad move for devs and others peoples :/ That's why i made this thread.

Hopefully this will stick. :) People make mistakes around here, but as I said, it can easily be remedied sometimes.
Sadly, your double win won't be among those. You really need to contact the creator of the second giveaway– assuming it wasn't another regifter– and somehow convince them to request that GA to be deleted. Otherwise your profile will permanently carry that multiple win stigma and that nowadays can be an actual reason that denies you access to certain giveaways.

I'm pretty sure you've heard the saying "not knowing is not a justification" or some other variation of that saying.
All of the rules are there for everyone to read and being too lazy to do so is not a valid excuse.
As others have said, it's good you've appologised and feel bad about it but it really does no good to people who really wanted the game and didn't win it because of you. You see that, right?
I hope for you you've learned from your "mistake". Especially if you're a dev. Doing stupid stuff and saying "I didn't know" won't save you from a law suit.
In my opinion, if you really felt bad about it and wanted to redeem yourself you'd go and buy the game to show the members of the community you're serious about it. You could also give it away on the forum instead of making a "real" giveaway that would add to your CV since being greedy about CV is what got you into all of this :)

Well, he could always buy another copy, if they are willing to reroll. Sadly, devs usually aren't :S

Good that you have the willingness to apologize. Just wish more people who weren't interested didn't enter the big give away as some of us (well at least I ;) ) who were interested in the game didn't get it despite the huge amount of keys hehe

Yeah i understand and sorry for the "steals luck"... the worst of it is that i'm also a game developper (mobile only for now), so i know how much is hard to get a game finished...
I've not seen the real scope of the giveaway, it was just a """"simple"""" opportunity to win a game key...

I didn't read it and got suspended for 8 days! (ಥ_ಥ)

The most important part is that you enter only GAs for games that you would play.
I have sinned too in the past, but I apologized and became a good SG user :P

You said that you are developer yourself, and that you didn't see real scope, which makes you ignorant, or just plain evil.
You know that all those big giveaways are mostly done on the expense of small indie developers who wish to spread the word about their game. And for each game key which is not used as intended its waste for developers. I'm quite sure that you know that you are not only regifter and some of the keys spend months in regifting cycle.
As for are you really sorry for your offense or not, I cant tell, but I'm quite sure that you are sorry for getting caught. You are not new to the site nor you are a some brat, so I'm sure that you knew for regifting policy due being often a topic on the forum threads.
And as for forgiveness, you should ask from giveaway creator not me.

I see the scope of making a game, i see all hard work of all the team of Apollo4x really. But yes when i've entered didn't really realise the harm that would be done...
I was more thinking "ok i don't want the game, let's regift and grow my contributor level and give it to a person wanting it". In my point of view i was thinking one poeple will have the game at the end, it will not lost key.
I read the first time the word "regift"/"regifter" yesterday, i've thanked the guy who tell me about this, helping me doing better.
Yes i am sorry and i've asked giveaway creator.

it's nice to see from time to time that people learn from their mistakes. thumbs up for you! ^^

well, do you read the FAQ of every website you use? i certainly don't. ^^

At first I was like "why do people never read the rules?".
But now I'm like "Is it something wrong with me, always reading the rules?"

Sorry but no. Your account is older then one year. And if persons dont read the rules from the start then I see no reasons for forgivness. Yeah maybe you "learn" from your mistakes or you just wont to shorten the punishment. Either way you joined GAs for games you dont want to play, won them multiple times and obove all regifted them to rise your CV. Yet all are like "hey good job for saying sorry" -.-
Hope you get perma banned. Its harsh but if you steal in the real world a couple of times in the same store what do you think would happend? "Oh you are sorry? Okay, here have a free pair of socks!"

I read somewhere that the age of an account is the first time you tried to register at Steamgifts, even if you did not meet the min. account value. So it is possible that an account with an age of 1 year+ is really using the site only for a few weeks.
I used the same line of arguement as you do, but changed it after I learned the way "age" is determined.

Yeah i do those bad moves the last days, almost 2 years ok and the last 3 days just did this ... I felt bad, even worse not read rules during that long period ...
i understand all the persons who don't forgive me, that's ok.
Thanks for reading me.

Did you find out what happened to your Trine you won here already?

I really wanted to win the game and didn't partially because of people entering to sell/regift it. Nevertheless, thank you for coming clean and owning up to it. I've removed you from my blacklist.

Hello,
I've just done something bad and trying to redeem myself about that ...
Ok let's go :
2 Days ago i won a key of Apollo4x key, as I'm not really interested by the game, i created a giveaway with the winned key. Unfortunetly i didn't read the comments of my giveaway at this time ...
Today, i've just win again a key of Apollo4x and i was thinking "cool that's gonna brings up my Contributor Level and make someone happy", so i re-created a giveaway ... but this time i read the comments and someone was telling thats it was forbiden to "regift" the keys :S
I was honnestly thinking it was legit to regift like in real life when you win something, it's yours so you can do everything you want with what is yours even resale or regift.
So i've read the guidelines... And i understand why it's a not loyal to regift...
So here we are, first le me apologies for what i've done. I was not intended to cheat or steal keys, it was a big, yes really BIG mistake... I feel bad right now about that. I've also contacted the SteamGifts support and Apollo4x Game Devs to apollogises.
I've already stopped to copy-paste the same comment on giveways, now i'm gonna enter only in giveaways i really want in my steam collection. SteamGifts is my daily click mash for almost 2 years now ! Wow can't belive i haven't read the guidelines...
if(Humans.doErrors() && me.isHonestPerson()){
me.doApologies();
}
else {
echo "Ok Chuck Norris We've spotted you!";
}
if(42) echo "Thanks for reading, and apollogies";
// TODO : Learn better english
