Xbox has better games, playstation has better hardware. If you have to ask this question, Xbox is probably what you want

Both of them are painfully mediocre at the moment. But I would say the Playstation has a better track record for truly interesting exclusives (that don't just wind up on PC a few months later). Owning a PC and a Playstation will get you the most bang for your buck.

I'll most likely be picking up a PS4 whenever Uncharted 4 comes around.

I would go with the Sony system. I've been happy with the PS1, PS2, PS3 and PSP. For the Microsoft systems, I've been ****ed over by awful customer service and lost access to my account with a few hundred dollars worth of games and DLCs since the attached email address no longer existed. They didn't even make the effort to help me.

I'd get both the Xbox and the Playstation 4, sell the two, and then spend the money on a PC.

It depends on the exclusive games you want to play. I love some unique gems (Flower, Journey, Yakuza, Unfinished Swan, Datura etc.) therefore I bought PS3, then PS4, and Xboxes are still only on my wishlist.

Decent PC + 2nd-hand PS3 + either Wii U or 3DS.

If the Jigsaw asked me to choose between the two or die, I'd pick PS4. Right now it's the one that has more potential in terms of exclusives. Xbox One hasn't shown a single real exclusive (maybe one? o.O).

If it must be a console, get a PS4. The XBone is a horrible piece of shit that no one in his right mind should even look at, let alone spend money on...

I stopped playing on console a long time ago. But if i had to chose:

Wii U > PS4 > XBONE

Nintendo is by far superior ATM but i'm pretty sure the PS4 with her exlusives will eventually come a bit closer to the Nintendo console. As for the Xbox, i honestly don't see why you should get that, except Halo and a few indies here and there (and they usually come to Steam anyway) this console is the worse choice considering (AFAIK) it's the most expensive.

All in all : You better use this money for upgrading your PC, or get a Wii U.

I prefer Playstations. I totally can't see the point of buying an expensive console then paying for gold points and monthly premium membership or whatever just to play online (xbox). Microsoft is way more capitalist than Sony.
I would not buy any of these new consoles because there are only small amount of games released, and they are all turd in my opinion. I'm not a fan of overhyped new-gen games.
I would still recommend buying a Playstation3 or spend that money on your PC, because most of the new-gen console games are released to PC too.
The best console so far is Playstation2 in my opinion, sure the graphics are very outdated but I still play it a lot because those games are fun, they are still about entertainment and not made for braindead 13 years old retards like the new-gen games filled with with stupid zombies, DLC and microtransactions, etc.
Besides the new consoles are way too overpriced, I would not really spend a dime on new consoles.
