Both Bioshock 1 & Bioshock 2

I just own Bioshock 2 right now. I bought it not long ago, and sience i heard about this remake thing, i was saving it to experience it remaked. I still wonder if it is ok to start with Bioshock 2, or if i should get a copy of bioshock 1 and start there? (i mean, if there´s continuity/spoilers/references on Bioshock 2 to the first one). If any of you played both, i would apreciate an answer.

Might aswell get the first one TBH. I do prefer the second one on some parts but the first one is as good/better depending on who you ask.

Bioshock 1 is $5 right now in the Humble Bundle sale. It's the cheapest you'll be able to get the game for a while.

too bad, it was $4 not too long ago and quite frequently

2 plot-wise and theme-wise runs on counterpoints to 1. That's harder to follow if you don't play 1 first, to get the original points it counters.
If you don't care for story, 2 has much more polished gameplay mechanics and is the better game.

Neither, I have all all of the series and while they are great games, Im happy with how they released originally and dont see a need to spend more on them.

BIOSHOCK ON STEAM: If you already own BioShock, BioShock 2, or Minerva’s Den on Steam, the remastered version for the corresponding title will automatically show up in your Steam library as a separate game.

(just saying)

Oh thank you, I didn't know that. I'm used to the old " Hey, we took our old game and made it use more resources, buy the new version " ploy. lol

Best of all, the remaster will include the previously console exclusive challenges in the original game (PS3 got them since the release was delayed, though the 360 got them when consoles got a reprint as a double pack) and the achievements for showing off your skills. :)

lol, true. Though there are some really well done remastered versions. For Bioshock it might even work better, if all games are more around the same fidelity.

This. While they are great games, I don't feel they are in need of a remaster. The graphics race has slowed down so much with the intervening years. The originals are still beautiful by today's standards.

I own both and haven't played them yet. Since I heard about the remaster coming, I decided to wait to play the remasters when they come out.

I loved the original, got Brass Balls on 360 with the rest of the achievements and wouldn't mind earning them again

Probably none of the two, or if they really give 2nd one's DLCs, maybe it. First one is fun to throw stuff and "spells" around but that's all after playing it once, but I just couldn't get into the second

Both. 1 is garbage on modern OS, it gave me headache just to run the darned game.

I've owned all of the Bioshock games for QUITE a while since they're so good 0.0

Probably Bioshock 1 since its the first true visit to rapture and you feel more vulnerable. When you were a Big Daddy in No.2 you felt OP.

Infinite had interesting characters (you know who i mean), great dialog, though gameplay was kinda meh in my opinion.
