Got my copy from a bundle, and that even that's a bit galling. It's happening more and more often. Game gets released, gets bundled very quickly, then given away for free very quickly after that.
It hits home what the devs think of their own game, and if the game has cards (and they often do), makes you think that the whole point of the game was to pump out something with little effort then make some quick cash from the card sales.
As a bit of games collector who buys nearly all the bundles it's enough to at least make me question whether I should continue or not, when I could often get the same game(s) for free just by waiting a couple of weeks.

I don't think you should. You created it before it was free. Just write on the GA if you want to that it's a key from a bundle and not one you got for free.

Maybe you should try. They can make exceptions and you have nothing to lose, Steam should know it's not ok to do that, it's bad for indie gaming. You seriously deserve to be refunded.
