Yes, the game is amazing! It has a unique and compelling story line. The missions are fun. There is a lot of sidequests and mini games that I was not interested in doing, there are too many of them.

I would recommend the normal version, unless you want do all of the extra challenges, which I did not do.

You cannot compare the driving physics to something like GTA 4/5, sleeping dogs, dirt. They're complete shit compared to games like that. The physics are closer to some of the non-simulation need for speed games.

I first bought it on PS3 and then on Steam, I was disappointed that there was no local multiplayer on PC but except for that, I don't regret it at all. I've been a fan of the Driver serie since the first one came out and, even if different, DSF is still worth the money.

I bought the Deluxe Edition, the bonuses don't add much but it was just a few bucks more.

So if you like game where your driving is the most important thing but also includes regular traffic (not like Gran Turismo for example), go for it, you'll have a blast. Whether you go for the Standard or Deluxe edition mostly depends on how much money you are willing to spend, it is still a great game without the bonuses.

You like racing games? Yes? Well there is your answer.

To be honest I didn't like the way the cars handled and had trouble navigating, but if you don't mind a more realistic racer (I prefer more arcade-y games like Burnout, Mario Kart, etc.) it's not a bad game at all.

Also, buy the Deluxe Edition if you think you're going to like it because there's no way to upgrade after the fact short of asking Valve to remove the game from your account and buying the whole game again. It's not a great amount of content, but it may be worth it to you.

I really enjoyed it when I played it a couple of years ago.I'm just waiting for a better sale LOL XD
I recommend it.It has a pretty big map to explore, lots of awesome cars and I remember that the driving is really fun, especially when you have 200/300 km/h on the Golden gate Bridge. Also the 'Shift' function is AWESOME.

I want this game.
I'm waiting for a possible 50% or 75% off.
Do you think it will be cheaper before the offer finishes? (28th day)

Thanks :)

It ends on the 24th.

I think there are more chances to get a non-steam version for 50% off or less.

Aye I say it's worth it.

If you are a fan of weird, but still rather grounded, sci-fi stories like Quantum Leap it has something for you with it's story mode. Yes a story mode in a racing game, but it's quite enjoyable.
If you enjoy classic movie car chase scenes, the side quests in the game recreate a number of them including a fun one from Blues Brothers.
Multiplayer, providing you can still find people, is just hectic enough that numerous skill levels can take part without feeling too outclassed if someone is higher than them, but still skill driven enough if it's rewarding to get better in the various fun styles.
The driving is "heavier" than say Burnout or a kart racer, without being too much of a sim like Gran Turismo, but has a good balance to it and each car feels unique enough on it's own.
An open world San Fransisco design, though condensed, is large enough it feels like the real city.

I can't say anything about the two versions on Steam as I got it on PS3, but the base game is great and any extras such as those cinema based extra missions for recreating classic car chases should be gotten if it's in the Deluxe edition.

I haven't played it but my dad has and loved it. Really hoped it would go 75% off but I doubt it.

Also, are PC controls good? We recently got a PS3 but I'm mainly a PC gamer so would prefer to get it on here but I don't have a controller for my computer.

You can use your PS3 controller to play it ;)

That involves a lot of downloading stuff which I'm not great at and can't really be bothered to do. Also, I heard they're pretty poor on the PC.

No it doesn't, and they are fine on PC.

One single thing is a lot of downloading? Its pretty much the same as using my x360 controller, only the range was worse but that was because of my shitty bluetooth stick I think.

It is an amazing game that is missed by far too many people but believe it is better on the console as many do

Yes, and of course being an awesome and really polished game nobody gave a flying fuck about it. Also, it has Alfa Romeos and the DMC12, so thumbs up all the way.

The deluxe edition includes a couple of extra cars for the empty multiplayer and some challenges in the single player, not that great, but at 75% the price difference makes 4 more challenges worth anyway.

it has no achievements or cards and is singleplayer only, just torrent it
I completed the game as well except for some side quests. Its a nice game and the car handles well, main quests are also not too difficult. But some of the side quests depends a bit too much on luck.

I think i've never saw a more fucked up argument for pirating a game. The "gamez cost too much" excuse doesn't work anymore with Steam sales?

Seriously, fucking CARDS?

It's surprisingly good and very underrated. Plenty of re-play value and the open world is just amazing. Yes, it's a must-have.

It's great! The handling is superb, the car switching mechanics provide a new take on standard police chases, there's loads (and I mean shitloads) of different challenges to do all of different difficulties.

Even if you want to ignore missions or challenges, it's still great fun to just get into a fuel tanker or articulated truck and just cause mayhem or get into a supercar and go powersliding round the city.

My only bit of advice is that it's much cheaper to get it not on steam I believe. I got it for like £2 off Gamers Gate I think about a year ago, and on Steam it's still £6.49 after the 35% discount. Keep your eyes on other sites and just get a uPlay version, the Steam version uses uPlay as well so you're not losing anything by not getting it on Steam.
