Permanent price drops in Steam affect CV retroactively.
edit : looking at your giveaways, you only gave away bundled / exploited games, that's why your CV went down to $30

Games that hit a 95% price cut in sale are considered exploited. Takedown : Red Sabre sale made it possible for people to get over $100 CV with just a $3 investment.

problem is that they all were previously available in bundles, so even if you are giving away a gift in Steam, just as long as the giveaway happens after the bundle occurs it's still counted as a bundle game
Well, except for Takedown Red Sabre, but that was marked as a price exploit because of 90+% off discount, added to the bundle list

takedown was never in a bundle. it was discounted at 90% with a 4pack giving 8 copies (7 giftables). thats why it is marked, not because it was in a bundle.

Same difference. The 'bundle' list isn't just "games that have been bundled" it's "games that were ridiculously cheap and thus almost certainly didn't cost you anywhere near as much as their Steam price indicates".
Games that went on 90% sale with an automatic BOGO? Yeah, that belongs on the bundled list. Dead Island: Riptide, where the bundle required you to pay an extra $20 over the typical range of BTA prices? Doesn't belong on the bundled list.
Overall, I think the list is fair. That said, I think Simowl was meaning 'on the bundle list' not strictly 'in bundles'. It's fairly interchangeable.

He said that in the description, but I'm sure he bought the game afterwards on Steam and gave the winner that one!

Anyway, you made a few people happy with your giveaways. Isn't that all that matters ?

I mean, bundle games or not, that green banner is always nice when it happens. Plus, VVVVV and Garry's Mod are good games, I'm sure those who won them were happy.

oh the joy of seeing people making giveaways "for the sake of giving" sarcasm
these comments like that makes me wonder the whole point of the original goal of the site

that would be a shame. i believe the cv system is what makes the overall giveaway quality here so much better then say galagiveaways (99% bundle games). it's a motivation. and that some people try to exploit it, doesn't make it less of a motivation.

i hate that everyone hides in groups. i dont think that SG should be like that. everybody hiding in groups, and the public section is only for the poor beginners who can't quite get in a group, and full of bundle games anyway. no, i really don't want that...

Your avatar fits so well for this situation. A lot of people are really rude on this site, especially when it comes to cv. The forum is most of the time, NO HELP. But yeah, even if it was a gift, it is still bundled.

The forum is rude for a reason. Because threads like this pop up

New members should read the rules. If they are too lazy to do so, they should just leave. This goes for every homepage, game or service ever. I never had to ask why my CV capped at $30 or why I lost CV, and I know many more who didn't have to ask either. There is a FAQ coincidentally.

you didn't get them as bundle keys, but they were previously available in that form and the site can't(manpower) confirm where you got them. therefore all games that have ever been in a bundle exploitable free or >95% off are permanently until the end of time assumed to be from those sources to avoid hording until a statue of limitations ran out.
as for why it only happened now: they backdate it to bundle start whenever it is they get around to sticking an * on

All games that go on a discount higher than 90% are added to the bundle list (I think I'm right with that number). The game was 90% off but it gave two copies, so it's more than enough to be on the bundle list.

"none of my games came from bundles or exploits, i bought them all from steam as gifts"
It isnt about your games you own on Steam..its about giving away bundled games.

I hate these type of threads because they quickly turn into 'this site is stupid', 'don't try to work the system', 'CV isn't the only reason to gift', 'shut up elitist, not everyone can afford games', 'gifting for the wrong reasons', 'end justify the means', 'how about no more cv', 'SG v. 2.0'

It is redundant indeed, but still interesting to see such discussions happen - not saying that they'll lead somewhere, but nevertheless interesting to read or be a part of in my opinion.
It's a forum after all, we have free speech, different opinions, a taste for interactions... So it has to take place :-D
