I don't feel the same with ecchi animes but it saddens me to finish watching a series, knowing the manga or light novels go on, only to realize there isn't another season nor will there be anytime soon. That's the moment when I feel there's like that huge gap. If the series was decently ended I usually don't feel like that, exceptions aside, though I would like the anime world to have gone on a little longer in some rare cases where the anime ended too soon for my opinion and didn't wrap up the stories of the people inside it properly the way they deserved

I won't tell you more than that you probably want to read Rosario to Vampire the manga and also Rosario to Vampire II (the second series). The anime's don't do the manga's justice.
But yes, getting to the end of an anime can be disappointing, especially if it's something like Air Gear, where it was unfinished and discontinued. Avatar: The Last Airbender, in contrast, was complete and wrapped up nicely.

I agree with the Last airbender when it ended I was very satisfied. I actually have the first few issues of RV on my amazon wishlist so I'll be picking them up soon.

Though Avatar isn't an anime technically seen, but you knew that :D Nice show nonetheless. I never even finished Air Gear myself honestly, the anime didn't really grasp me with tension or excitement and I gave up around ep 12, maybe it gets better later on, maybe not, who knows ;p

Even if it's not a real anime it was pretty good. The series was so good they even made a movie.

Don't bother you really aren't missing much at all.

He was, but then he and his wife got busy and made some more. ) You find out all about that in the next series, Legend of Kora, which is also quite good.

The movie was horrible, even as just another movie.

Could be. I'm more into western cartoons TBH I've just been getting into it with my netflix sub and on funimation.

Since you're watching on Netflix, check out My Bride Is A Mermaid, Moon Phase, and Sekirei. From what you listed you'd probably like those too.

Thanks I started watching Sekirei and the mermaid one as well I'll check out moon phase too.

Most of the sites I've seen just show the new additions. If they do have a filter for it it's usually archaic and some are missing search by genre or are missing the anime genre. You can just give me some recommendations though and I can look for them elsewhere. I have a funimation sub and am thinking about getting one for crunchyroll or others.

Try looking at my anime list. Check out the highest rated stuff first, I guess. Anything rated 8 or higher is probably worth watching.

lol, that's what I was going to say. I gave one a 3/10 and the other a 4/10 on mal.

If its a good series or game, it'll leave that "gap", the want/need for more.

I've been watching anime off and on for a long time and not really... until just a few days ago. I finished a series and got really depressed because of the way that it ended. I mean seriously depressed with that awful feeling in my stomach, and I couldn't stop thinking about it. I think I was a little too attached. I'm still upset about it but I think it'll eventually go away...
:S

I'm seriously glad I'm not alone. This has never happened to me before and I've never heard of it happening to anyone else so... yeah it feels nice to know I'm not the only one.

Definitely I can now find comfort in this fact haha. I've suffered from depression before for a while and I'd say this is not the same level of immobilizing depression as that. But it's definitely up there.

Yeah. That's probably your first knee-jerk reaction. I've dealt with serious depression a lot myself, and while this is different, I think for me at least there is something deeper to it. It's easy to say that since it's about something not real, that it's trivial. But there's something in you that made you connect to it on some level and feel that way... and that thing in you - whatever it is - that's not likely going to go away any time soon.
Well, I don't know. That's what I think. This may not apply to you. It may not even make sense to you.

You certainly know your stuff that's for sure. It's crazy how we being so complex can be affected by something so seemingly simple. I guess that is just in our nature haha.

After I finished Steins; Gate, I had no idea what to do with my life.I was just on space, acting like a robot but thinking the anime all the time.So damn good, I almost cried when I finished it.
And the best part is, PC game of it will come later in March ^^

Watched'em both of course, but movie came long time after I finished the series.Damn I love that series, Mayushi's voice is still in my head "Mayushii wa ureshii desu".

I feel what you are putting out there. The Ghost in a Shell series left me with a deep blue after it was over. I loved the series so much, I wanted more! Nothing really has filled the void. I could honestly lose myself in that universe. I enjoyed Gilgamesh, however the ending was a bit strange and I wanted it to wrap up a bit better. Elfen Lied was another series that completely ruined me for a few days after it was over. Such and intense story and mysterious ending. I recently watched High School of the Dead and that prompted me to take a break from anime. So many unanswered questions!
Noir and Madlax were both wonderful series. After I finished them, I had serious issues. I think it took me another year to pick up another anime. Nothing compared!

I usually feel more about this way about the not so great anime compared to the good ones as the good ones usually have a decent ending to them. The reason is that I invested so much time into the series and gotten to know the plot and characters that if it doesn't reach a satisfying conclusion, I feel that I have to make up all these what-ifs to justify my time spent on the series, and that clashes with the reality of things. Not only could I have saved myself from all these unwanted feels, but that I could have done something better, like watch a better anime. So I guess it is more of me trying to starve away the feeling that instead of making better use of that time, I spent it on something that gave me these post anime blues.

If you've only watched the anime for Rosario+Vampire, you are missing out. The Manga is about 100 times better. (It also just ended, so I am really sad as well, lol. All that's left is the epilogue) Claymore also seems to be coming to a close as well, I'll be sad when that ends.
I think the problem with the Heavy action packed shonen series is that they drag them out far too long, and you lose interest in the characters.

Yeah, that one broke my heart, too. In the beginning, I was thinking I wasn't going to like it, but there were so many good things about the series that I ended up watching it through to the ending.

Yeah I really miss his crazy antics haha. I'm hopeful that the new movie will wrap things up nicely.

Haven't been watching a a lot of anime recently, but I've been catching up on some mangas that gave me the blues.
In particular, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure - Stone Ocean, Monster and RahXephon did, for different reasons.

I just finished Heaven's Lost Property 2 seasons as well as the first movie. I haven't read the whole manga but I know pretty well how it ends. Just wondering if anyone else experiences the blues after finishing a series. I recently also watched Rosario + Vampire and felt a little sad but not as much.
I don't get this way when watching really action packed shonen but for some reason with the stuff that has a lot of fan service/ecchi in it I feel like I get more attached to the shows. Not even because of possible nudity or raunchiness but there's just something about the characters I really connect with.
Let me know what you guys think.
