Bioshock Infinite Industrial revolution rewards

So I pre-ordered Bioshock infinite and got the rewards from their little puzzle game.
They gave me the key but I'm not sure if I should activate or not, because I don't want it to be like Deus Ex or Dead Space 3 getting money or great weapons making the character OP right in the beggining of the game.
So my question is as follows, if I activate can I choose to not use the bonuses? And if not should I activate anyway?

If you active it you won't be able to choose so I suggest play around a bit till you figure it out yourself :) I would not be activating it on my first playthrough though !

Thanks for the tip, I think i'll use this code when playing with the "1999 mode". This mode seems really challenging.

if you have played bioshock before, those currency are just to upgrade/acquire plasmids (skills)

Those are just upgrades, i've played the game 5 minutes ago, and found those rewards, they are just "new" skills and you don't have to worry about.

Maybe the rabbit one, the one you can run faster for 2 seconds i think, but that's it.

Well I'll be using them straight from the off, along with any that come with the season pass dlc pre purchase if there are any. I can't wait to get home from work in the morning to play.

Somehow I don't get my key for the IR rewards. I registered my copy yesterday on the website and played the first 13 levels.
But I got no mail with my key and under "My Rewards" it just says "...Enter this code with your copy of BioShock Infinite in order to access the Industrial Revolution Rewards Pack in the game!...".
Does anyone else have the same problem?

They don't email it, you have to go to the My Rewards section of the Industrial Revolution site, and there should be a button or something that you have to click to reveal your key

Instead of the little white square you have, it shows me the key, so I don't think they mail you anything.
