What's with all the giveaways of The Ship?

Where do they all come from?

Does anyone actually play the game or is everyone just passing on the copies they won in order to get some contributor points?

no you cannot regift, the ship just spawn extra copies when you active it to your account.

The developer gave away tens of thousands of gift copies. When you activated then, it gave you two more gift copies, which each spawned ANOTHER gift copy. I don't know how many copies they gave away, but multiply that x5 and it's over 100k copies of the game.
