They changed it years ago so you can giveaway free games, even during a promotion. You will receive no cv.

There is always a flood of giveaways when there is free game on HB or other site. I think its pretty stupid to giveaway games that anyone can get for free, not to mention that all those "gifters" exhaust usually limited supply of keys but its not forbidden.

I got no problem with people giving away free games. If the system is working as intended, the value of the game will be reduced or removed and changes will be backdated to when the game was made free, so even if they get points for it now it won't be for long. I just wish they'd include where they got it for free in the giveaway description.
I made a number of black lists for posting the source of a free game in the comments, which I think is quite silly. shrugs

You could just not care about what others give away ( you can own that free one and not see the giveaways, or hide them by clicking on the eye after its name)
But if you really want to leave the site where you can get games for free, only because some people make giveaways without getting anything from it and you're annoyed by it - feel free to do so. Just don't let the door hit you on your way out!

Did you also contact to square enix about why they are giving same game key while its already free on steam. Its the same reason they can giveaway what ever they want. This is not the place steamaaagamegifts, sorry to we disappoint you.

We allow users to give away "free" games on this site. The previous policy of not allowing such giveaways no longer applies. Games that become "free" do not give CV after achieving that status except in very rare cases.
